By now, with all the anomalies the castle had thrown at them, Jericho and Brendin were barely surprised when a newcomer entered the room.
Jericho smiled at Alessio in approval as he took charge of the situation. Brendin meanwhile quickly got out of the bed and summoned a small flame in his palm. He hoped he needn’t use his syne now; the fire was volatile, and he didn’t want to injure anyone. Before he could do anything even if he wanted, Malvat carved out the wall to reveal a dark room.
“There is a menacing presence in this next room, and it is as dark as the dwarves’ caverns.”
Interesting. The Dwarrow were once called dwarves, weren’t they? A stray thought crossed Brendin’s mind.
Jericho focused, probing into the dark room. Whatever lurked within was cautious and evasive. She sensed merely a shadow of a presence.
“Hush,” Malvat whispered. “This has the air of a trap.”
“Joy,” Jericho said quietly, following the dragon into the dark chamber.

Kinda funny how Brendin just popped up from being dead and literally no one questioned it at all. If y’all wanna know how/why Bren came back so quickly, I’m happy to share!
