@evelyn Nano is the perfect time for chocolate. 😉 *gratefully takes tea* Happy first year! 😀 And happy first time to you too, @samuel :).

@samuel, Yep!

Well, you’ve kind of told your progress on Ydubs. I don’t know where your NaNo profile is.

Parker Hankins replied to the topic NaNoWriMo-ers??? in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 11 months ago

@samuel, I’ll be over 40k by the end of the day. But I am going for 100k you know so it’s important to get a lot done.

You’re doing really good yourself!!

Parker Hankins replied to the topic NaNoWriMo-ers??? in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 11 months ago

Hey, @samuel, I’m doing NaNo as you know!

@samuel Why, yes, hello there! This is my second year doing the month of insanity *AHEM* I mean NaNoWriMo. Yes. (If you can’t tell my brain is already scrambled.) Are you peoples planers or pantsers, or a little bit of both? I thought I was a plantser, but I’ve strayed so far from my original plan, I don’t know what’s happening anymore. 😛

Gabrielle Pollack replied to the topic NaNoWriMo-ers??? in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 11 months ago

@samuel @evelyn Yay! Fellow nanoers! *hands you both a hearty helping of sanity chocolate* Is this the first year for you two?

Noah Litle started the topic Name That City! in the forum New Wessex Writing Discussions 7 years, 11 months ago

Hey, guys!

I need some ideas. I have a city that needs a name.

So, the city is a kind of modern (think early 1900s) city, but with an ancient roman/middle eastern twist. That basically means they have an arena for ancient roman style games and an open marketplace squeezed between industrial brick.

Fire away!

Hit me.

I’m open to any…[Read more]

Hey Saxon Scribes,

For something like six months now, we’ve studied character development every week. It’s been a good journey, but now I’m coming to the point where I don’t have a whole lot more to discuss. If anything else comes to mind, I’ll make a topic out of it, but if nothing comes to me, next week I think we could start on something…[Read more]

Guys, this is crazy. A little sad. Absolutely awesome.

The word war. How’d we do?

We actually beat the record from past guild wars! I was amazed. We had 51,082 — a whole novel’s worth in a week.

So, the winner?

……

With 72,127 words, it goes to Parimi Alca. I’m super impressed with those guys, especially since I’ve heard they’re the…[Read more]

@samuel Unfortunately, outlining does not count. That sure is a lot of work though.

@maddiejay *jaw drops* How do you write so much?

Daeus Lamb replied to the topic Let's write /more/ in the forum Announcements 7 years, 11 months ago

@bama-rose I’ll announce the winner — probably tomorrow.

If you wrote this week, but haven’t turned in your word count yet, this is your last chance. @raemarie @cindy @kate @m_corinnemusic @j-parkhurst @gabbyj @julianne @germaine-han @maddiejay @sesi @r-j-karas @rosemarylouise @msqueen8 @samuel

Raspberries?

How life is, that the most unheroic detail can somehow make the distances between us seem smaller, and the room less cold. I stand with Kate, and everyone follows suit. If talking has died down, maybe everyone’s spirits will be revived by a little bit of a stretch and walk.

The grating of many wooden chairs follows, and with a start…[Read more]

Hey Saxon Scribes. I think I missed last week somehow, but thankfully I remembered just in time today.

Let’s talk about relational development. Just like the meaning we bring to the world is often found in our relationships, usually the best character development is actually relational development between one character and another.

Today, it t…[Read more]

Hey guys,

I forgot there was a word war this week! I’m going to need to set myself some automated reminders.

Anyway, we’re going to do the best we can. The guilds have decided to war starting today and ending Tuesday night.

This works like it always does. We write as much as we can and try to outdo everyone else!

Here’s what can count toward…[Read more]

@samuel Hope you can join us for the other conversations we have!

The guild wars are kind of time-consuming, especially during the editing process, and they don’t always work into everyone’s schedule.

@the-fledgling-artist

I am so glad you asked this question, because I’ve been wanting to ask it myself for the past couple of weeks. My WIP has a male dominated cast…so I totally understand where you are coming from. (*sigh* at least, now, we can be confused together. 😀)
