Right! And every single time Ezer appears in the Bible (outside of Genesis) it is used to describe either YHWH himself (17x), Isreal’s allies (1x), or Isreal as an ally (1x).
God uses the same term that he gave to women (from the very start, in Eden) as a term for himself. If we are going to say women can be helpers/rescuers of…[Read more]

There are four of us on Story Embers, five of us total.
Is your WIP a stand alone or a series?
As for my WIP, the working title is Lost City of Dragons – I tend to abbreviate it to tLCoD. Another working title is Brand of the Crypt – I hate the title though. 😑 It is SUPPOSED to be a standalone novel, but it’s also kinda a…[Read more]

Thank you for responding.
I like that you focused on emphasizing simplicity. Sometimes, as people, we can get the temptation to overcomplicate things. Do you think creatives have an extra struggle to overcomplicate in doing actions that require a lot of thought, or does that not make a difference? If yes, how do you see this playing…[Read more] -

Said grammar-dictionary sister said (as far as we could tell without reading my story together) that what I said in my previous post about “Were” is probably right, but is a situation that should be avoided.

Emily Waldorf replied to the topic First Person Present in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 11 months ago
Thank you!
Ah! No, “was” is incorrect, but not quite in the way you’re thinking. These two sentences are similar in that the MC is thinking hypothetically:
When something is a wish or otherwise hypothetical, it is correct to use “were”, although people will use “was” because it sounds right (like I thought it did). I might…[Read more]
