@dekreel First off–I appreciate your deep post! Thank you for sharing and being honest about what you’re going through. 🙂
Secondly, I prayed for you right now. 😉
Thirdly, it’s okay to have seasons in your writing. I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was eleven, but I still put it aside for awhile to go to a Bible Institue and study children’s…[Read more]

@morreafirebird Hi Audrey! I really have no idea how old your prayer request (about having wisdom for upcoming major life decisions) is, but I wanted you to know that I read it and prayed for you today. May God bless you with great wisdom–and joy. (Because being super smart but unhappy doesn’t seem like the best way to go.XD

@katthewriter Hi Kat!
Looks like you have a great start to your story!
I thought I would mention a few “content” type things because typos and all that are some of the easiest things to weed out. XD
A few things I noticed:
*You began the story with a direct quotation. (Most authors stay away from beginning a book with a direct quotation…[Read more]

@gabriellepollack I think I understand what you were trying to say regarding “it’s our job to manipulate the readers’ emotions carefully” but I have to say I hate that terminology. 😉 As a reader, I HATE it when I can tell that an author is trying to make me feel a certain way–I’ll put a book down before I’ll submit to the chosen emotion!
I much…[Read more]

@anne-of-lothlorien That’s such a beautiful poem/song! <3 I like that you address that there are questions about why we bother writing…and then a resounding answer. 😉
But now I’m dying to know what the KePers anthem was…

100,000 in four months is awesome! Especially if you do that fairly consistently, that’s going to add up big time! 😉 Do you tend to be an ebber and flow-er? Or more of a slow and steady?

@toklaham-veruzia I like that idea, sort of like a Sohab and Rustam (I have no idea if I spelled those names right! But that’s the epic poem where the champions of warring nations kill each other, only to find out that they’re father and son.)

@devastate-lasting I’ve tried to write in first person SO MANY times and I just never finish anything–I get cramped inside their heads lol. I really admire people who can write that way. ;P

@devastate-lasting I like to write as the omnipotent narrator or a tight third person! What about you?
And getting an Instagram (or not) is a totally personal decision. There are definitely pluses and minuses either way. 😉

I really don’t have books to recommend, because I’ve been reading non-fiction for so long! I’m really excited to get back into fiction, though, and see what you guys come up with for me to read! 😀

@gabriellepollack I’d be interested! Being in a book club is on my bucket list–AND I’ve been needing a push to read books I outside of my usual little “track.”

~When you read a 500 page biography of a historical character you don’t like, simply because you’re trying to work on your villian.
~When you take notes on other people’s conversations–overheard at the gas station, grocery store, library, church… (this is actually a really good exercise to improve dialouge!)
