Yep! I saw this discussion while scrolling through the poetry forum because I wanted to ask about spoken word poetry. As far as I know, you can post it! I love spoken word poetry! Do you have any favorite artists?

This is interesting! I think you’re right in that evil actions can stem from not using gifts the way they’re meant to be used. I agree with the fact that people sometimes seek power in order to gain a feeling of self-worth and use revenge as a tool to gain “justice.” Here are my thoughts on how desires can be perverted (just…[Read more]

You’ve got me on the edge of my seat…I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
I hope I’m not stepping on anyone’s toes, but I don’t like Hallmark movies. I’ll watch them if someone else in the room is watching them, but I wouldn’t voluntarily choose them unless I’m outlining the plot, analyzing the acting, making fun of them (a…[Read more]

I would suggest listening to instrumental music that fits the mood of whatever you’re writing (e.g., sad, introspective, beauty-filled, etc.) I find that music really inspires my writing; I made a writing playlist on Spotify of instrumentals to listen to while I’m writing. You could even make a playlist that reminds you of the…[Read more]

@ericawordsmith Oh my goodness, yes!! I love that idea! It’s almost like we’re writing an episode of Once Upon a Time. Also, I’ve heard the “They’re Taking the Hobbits to Isengard” song – did you know they have a ten-hour version? LOL!

Michaela replied to the topic READ THIS BOOK!!!!! in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years ago
Hi! I know I’m really late in the game here, but I absolutely LOVED the Giver (as a book and series). My favorite book in the series was Messenger, with the Giver as a close second, so I highly recommend reading the whole series.

Also, I’m an INTP, which would make more sense if I were a melancholy-phlegmatic. When it comes to correlating the temperaments with Myers-Briggs, here’s what I’m thinking:
Phlegmatic – IxFP
Choleric – ExTJ
Melancholy – IxTJ (note: in general, SJs tend to have melancholy as either their first or second type; S involves details, while J involves…[Read more]

I LOVE all things personality (mbti, temperaments, etc.) I’m a melancholy-choleric, with phlegmatic close by. I’m not a detail person, but I seriously overthink things; my mom calls me a philosopher. I’m not sure which test is better for writing characters, but in real life, the temperaments seem to be more accurate.

The chestnut-tinted irises encircling my pupils look like Saturn’s rocky rings, because of the flecks sprinkled in a circle throughout them. It feels weird to describe my eyes that way, lol! Here’s a useful tool I’ve used for eye/hair/skin color…[Read more]

Can I jump in? I don’t mean to intrude, but who knows? Perhaps I do…the human mind is preposterously fickle. I apologize for my philosopher-like rant. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dr. Kaprissa Alex Knight, a psychology professor in one of Michaela’s partially-written stories (oh, how I hate it when she leaves me in suspense like…[Read more]
