A letter has appeared, carried by a small steampunk dragon. It drops it into your hand, flies aboround you a few times and then turns back to its home land. Your gaze drops down to the envelope and you see that it is addressed to you. You open it, and it reads:
Hello Patimis!
Us Guildmasters have been talking a bit lately, and decided that we…

Hello Parimis!
One thing that I’ve just had playing on my mind is similar to what we we talking about back at Choice of Information. (something that was asked to be looked into more.) And the thing I’m thinking of? Description. Or more specifically, over description. Shockingly, it is one of the things that will either kill a scene’s tension, or…[Read more]

@lillian-parks03 I noticed you changed your profile picture to a picture of yourself! <3 I love being able to see how adorable and pretty you are 🙂 I hope I don’t sound creepy, though! Do you play guitar? (sorry if it was mentioned earlier, I suppose I forgot)

@lillian-parks03 I agree with Christi as well, try drawing and comparing your art to real life references and in time you’ll be able to see when there’s any wrong proportions.
The fifth drawing is great, but besides that one it seems there is a pattern of the eyes and lips being too large, mainly.
I can tell you are sensitive to values in your…[Read more] -

@lillian-parks03 The best advice I can give is to keep practicing. 🙂 Like Christi said using reference photo’s is a game changer when trying to improve. (I really liked that last drawing though! <3 )

Hello Parimis!
One of the things that I gleaned out of the last lesson was that something I need to look at is when to release key information.
Often in writing, the character’s backstory is really important to the plot. Maybe the fact that Johnny spent seven years in prison is why he plans to betray the main character. Maybe Amy’s obsession…[Read more]

Hey! I just wanted to say, that what has helped me SO MUCH as an artist, is checking my work in a mirror.
It reverses the features, and really shows where things might be out of proportion, etc.
Good luck! 🙂

@lillian-parks03 Don’t be afraid to use reference photos. Look at pictures of people. Go on Pinterest, you can find tons of people to draw. If you really study faces you’ll be able to better pinpoint what you are doing wrong. I know a lot of beginner artists can be scared to use references but even professionals use it. Trust me, it’s not “…[Read more]

@salome01w4g Hello it’s been so long since I’ve read you!
Yes I do that… What I have to do is try and force myself to not edit it as I write. What helps a little bit is if I just work on that one chapter without going back to other chapters. I guess this mindset helps *because I have finished them they should not be edited until the next draft…[Read more] -

Hey guys!
After a few more little edits, we’ve gotten this draft just about done! All we need is to give the rest of you an opportunity to look at it and make any comments and suggestions that you can think of. I’ll be checking this fairly regularly to make sure that any ideas get checked out. Be sure to hop over to the doc and leave any…[Read more]

@lillian-parks03 Hello (Yes, I’m new here and I will make a intro topic soon, but first)
Your drawings are really good! I shall try and critique them, so don’t take it too hard though. 😉

@lillian-parks03, I don’t know much about making book covers, so I can’t really help. But the ones you have up look good.
With characters, I tried my best to make a clear description of my characters… but good job with the description of yours! 🙂
