Mrs. Skywalker replied to the topic The Elusive Critique Partner Creature in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years ago
Haha, I feel ya! My novels are pretty long usually, so it can be a little tough trying to find people who can commit!
Thanks for the tips! I’m going to try to keep looking for people and maybe ask around and see if anyone is up to look at being a critique partner with me!
Also, thanks for the offer!! I’ll remember it! I appreciate…

Wow, I totally agree with you there. I have recently read some stuff that has changed my mind on some of this, as well. 🙂
Agreed, lol. I will start a new thread with a reply to your above post, and we can continue on there.
Sorry to take over your topic, dude. XD

Knaphello, Knaplingers!
As you’ve probably noticed, activity has been pretty low here. It’s the same with the other guilds.
That’s fine if everyone’s busy, but if it’s just because the guilds weren’t attractive enough…
Well, we should do something about that then.
After talking it over with the other SE staff, We have an idea. This isn’t a…[Read more]

Today’s post is written by Faith Kochanowski, and it’s a good one.
How to deal with procrastination
Procrastination. It’s a nasty little dragon that often grows ginormous at the most inconvenient times. For instance, the last week of NaNoWriMo. It will bring in other things such as a new shelf that needs a place in the living room which fac…[Read more]

Any luck this week?
If not, no worries. The deadline is midnight tonight if anyone wants to take a crack at it, otherwise it’s no big deal and I’ll just let the judge know we have no submission this time.

And now this weeks post! By me!
Handling critiques and criticism
Maddie MorrowLetting others see our work is probably one of the hardest parts of being a writer. That’s our heart and soul out there at the mercy of prying eyes.
It’s probably one of the most essential parts of writing though.
Without sharing our writing, there is no way we…[Read more]

I forgot to post last weeks talk guys! Sorry. It’s by Brandon Miller.
Okay so all of you have gone through the phase where writing isn’t “fun” anymore, right? It’s not necessarily that you’re stuck or that you don’t have a good idea or that your book isn’t going well… it’s just that given the choice to curl up on the couch and watch Net…[Read more]

Hello, Knaplingers!
Today we start a prompt war!The Prompt: Write a story where you bring out the beauty of something ordinary in the middle of a very dramatic setting
The rules:
1. Everyone can help plot and edit, but only one person can write the story.
2. 2500 word limit.
3. The war starts today and runs for two weeks. Writing must be…[Read more] -

*facepalms* Thanks for tagging me again, my family and I are working through a ton of health-related stuff right now and I’ve (obviously) been offline for several days. 🙂
I see what you mean, and I agree with you there. Still I consider the whole northern/Union side of things to be in the right during the war, though. I mean, I…[Read more]

Yes, I know what you mean. It’s called thinking for yourself instead of brainwashing, which I believe is what happens every day at schools, colleges, etc… across the nation. Besides…[Read more]

You are absolutely correct. I’ve read SO many of the books, and I’m still sad that they didn’t model the new movies after them. *cries*

@his-bard I agree, Disney was definitely a step backward for Star Wars. The only one I like is “Rogue One”. which I was pleasantly surprised with.
While I do want an Obi-wan Kenobi movie (he’s one of my favorite characters), I have a bad feeling they’d just butcher it.
Why would everything Jarjar’s fault? lol, I know most people HATE him. Bu…[Read more]

But at any rate, there are plenty of falsehoods that are broadly accepted as truth (for example evolution, among a million other things) but that are obviously still not true just cause they’re written in books everywhere.

Okay, I mostly agree with you about the American Revolution…you don’t see much British history on that, as all the British generals did a horrible job and slaughtered a lot of brave and otherwise-victorious soldiers needlessly. Pretty humiliating war for them, to say the least, esp when you consider their history and where Britain was…[Read more]

Hey, nice to formally meet you, and welcome to SE!
(Also, yes, Bilbo is just that likable.)
As you probably remember, I’m a fellow INTJ, probably T over A, enneagram 5 or 6…. it’s been a while since I tested that. As for my favorite authors, I’ve probably have to say Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Victor Hugo, and Peretti. (I do like a good…[Read more]

I wondered if that was what you meant. I don’t go along with the politically correct view either, but that is not the point of this particular book…it just deals with the people affected by it otherwise. I may write another book (non-fiction) on that whole side of 9/11, though. It doesn’t seem like a lot of people know much more than…[Read more]
