@the-inkspiller – WOW. That information on infections was so helpful. I’m one of those people who don’t really get grossed out about those things (not sure if that’s good or bad xD) and found it really cool and fascinating. Thank you! I’m taking A&P right now, so whenever we discuss things about injuries and whatnot, I get so excited (the same can…[Read more]

@ariella-newheart – I’ve never actually *studied* poetry before, so I won’t be able to give very helpfulย critique, but I will say that as a general reader, I absolutely LOVED this poem. The imagery was exquisite, the rhyming and rhythm pleasant, and it overall made me feel as if I was wandering in the skies.
One little typo: I think you mean…[Read more]

Elisha Starquill replied to the topic Any Fellow “Sherlock Holmes” Fans Out There? *raises hand* in the forum Mystery/Suspense/Thriller Writers 6 years, 2 months ago
@bigideaskc – YES, I love Sherlock Holmes. The cases are so clever, so witty, so captivating (even if you’ve read all of them hundreds of times, like I have xD) that it got me interested in writing mystery. There’s a lot of awesome cases, so you’re in for a treat. ๐
I haven’t watched that movie, because Robert Downey, Jr. is not remotely how I…[Read more]

@anne_the_noob14 – I’m not quite sure, but I think it was one of the earlier ones? Definitely with Anakin as a boy. A basic explanation sounds like a good idea. I might give Star Wars another shot after it. ๐
Ah, I see! I love bounty hunter stories, so it sounds very interesting. Thanks for explaining it! I don’t have Disney+, but we might try…[Read more]

@joshuapior – Yes, same with me! Thus my over excitement that you actually know about him. xD
A thalassophile is a lover of the ocean, and a trinstamentalist is – in addition to being a word I made up – someone who plays three instruments (in my case, piano, guitar, and violin.) I’ve always adored discovering rare words and creating my own. ๐

@anne_the_noob14 – Lol, that story’s hilarious!ย Confession time…I hope I don’t offend you…I’ve only seen one Star Wars movie. *hides under covers*
According to a friend who was outraged at this (and who’s apparently a Star Wars expert xD) said that the one I watched is the worst one and that I must go watch these other ones, but I saw the…[Read more]

I’ve been attempting lots of things, mainly portraits of the cast from LoTR (because I’m familiar with their faces xD) and animals. I love concept art too! My dream is to one day draw my own characters and fantasy landscapes, but right now I cannot draw anything without a…[Read more]

@anne_the_noob14 – It is tedious, which is why I’m kind of plodding along right now. ๐ Your welcome!
Pretty good! I’m relishing these few peaceful weeks before my spring semester classes start at the end of the month. I have lots of time to write and brainstorm (and do all that nasty plotting xD) and it’s really doing wonders for my WIP, which…[Read more]

@joshuapior – Hi Joshua! Welcome to Story Embers. What kind of art do you like the most? I’ve recently rekindled my love for it, starting off with some basic pencil drawings. I’m really enjoying it so far. I love to travel too! I’m blessed to have an international family, which has given me a lot of opportunities to see the world.

@deeprun – I definitely agree with your concept of friendship and shared experience. In this case, we’d all be writers, which is already a plus because my non-virtual friends aren’t writers either and aren’t able to understand a lot of things. Hence why I’ve preserved my reputation as a sane person and haven’t told them about my fantasy novels. xD…[Read more]

@anne_the_noob14 – I’m still kind of figuring foreshadowing out myself, but currently I’ve realized how important it is to have the future event nailed in massive detail. Plotted out to the maximum. This way, even if all that information doesn’t actually get written down, it’s easier to weave it in. Also, big actions don’t happen without a lot of…[Read more]

@caseybold – YES, I’ve always dreamed of having a writing group like the Inklings! As @deeprun mentioned, I feel like it’d be so beneficial if I had more feedback on my writing and worked side-by-side with other writers, instead of just depending on my own judgement and working alone. @anne_the_noob14 – That’s awesome! I usually have a rough (very rough) plan of the order of major events, and then I wing it from there. Best of luck in your plotting endeavours! An amputated arm sounds terrifying. I think I see where a lot of those tears are going to come from. Poor characters. xD
