@eden-anderson, Okay, so, my contemporary story is still very much in the early stages. (Like, really early stages.) But it’s kind of a coming of age story about a teen-aged only child who babysits his neighbor’s kids while they’re off on a romantic get-away. 😆
It’s kind of my goofy/fun/lighthearted outlet since the other story I’m working on is…[Read more]

@eden-anderson, Your story sounds so sad and sweet! 😥❤ My dad plays guitar, so stories about guitarist are always a little nostalgic for me. I’m sure yours will turn out beautifully!
@arindown, Ahh! Your story sounds like something I would love to read. 😄 Country town, large cast of characters… 👌 Oh, yeah.
@beth20, Ooh, your premise sounds…[Read more]

Chalice started the topic Help! My POV character hates the world! in the forum Characters 6 years ago
Hey friends and fellow writers!
So… I need help. I have a character who is kind of an avalanche of bitterness. She hates the situation she’s in, she hates the people around her, she hates herself…. Yeah… she’s kind of a mess.
Anyway, I’ve given this a lot of thought (I’ve been drafting this story for about five years now), and I’ve decided…[Read more]

Oh boy *rubs hands together* Thanks for this, @eden-anderson!!
My WIP, currently in the self-edit stage and 73k words, is Stop the Rain: Never Leave a Fallen Comrade. It’s the story of a teenage US Army MP (military police) during the heat of Iraq: growing up—joining the Army—getting deploye…[Read more]

Saw this thread and thought, “Man, I need to go join that group.”😆 So here I am.
Your story sounds amazing, and looks like it has tons of potential for really moving scenes (everyone’s favorite😊).
I don’t know if anyone has read the Mitford Series…it’s about a whimsical little “normal” country town. My contemporary stories a…[Read more]

@eden-anderson Yep! Good, good. Yeah, I feel ya XD
😀 Yep!
Ooo, I was planning on doing it, but life got in the way and I haven’t even touched it.
Pretty good! Been feeling my sanity slowly slip away as I am deprived of seeing my friends XD And our internet is horrible, so video calls are out of the question. *sighs* But I’ve been doing some…[Read more]

I just thought I’d share this, if someone didn’t know. For all you students out there, if you have a .edu e-mail you can get two months free on Skillshare. No I’m not sponsored, lol. I’ve been using this for about three weeks now and I’ve actually learned stuff, go figure.
If you’re like me and have had a little extra time on your hands then yo…[Read more]

@eden-anderson I’m about 4k below my goal, but I’ve been closing the gap and I’m feeling really good about my projects! I still have time and I just got over a big slump and words are flowing beautifully again. If you ask me again next week, I will be far less optimistic. But today, the sun is shining and the world is beautiful, and I don’t have…[Read more]

@eden-anderson *insane laughter* I’m approximately 8.5k behind. On an already-reduced goal (I started out shooting for 50k and promptly dropped it to 30k). So that’s great. *more defeated laughter*
I guess I’m doing more on my Camp project than anything else at the moment, but… that’s not saying much. ;P (Also, this may not have been the best…[Read more]

Hey guys…so I’m a poet…and I’ve always pretended to be allergic to NaNoWriMo and Camp NaNoWriMo. This was because I was thought, geez, a poet like me can’t do that.
Update: A friend of mine has, in fact, convinced me to do that.
I’m going to tackle a poetry editing goal and (I hope) a word count goal this month. So here I am.
