Ah, cool. I was going to say that shouldn’t advertise The Golden Ziggurat to all fantasy readers, but more to people who enjoy Aztec culture and similar, because I’m an avid fantasy reader and I wasn’t a fan of The Golden Ziggurat. (Though if it’s been edited further I might like it better now; we’ll see. Part of what threw me off was…[Read more]

By the fantasy story you mean The Golden Ziggurat? (Just to clarify, ’cause if so I have some feedback. :P)

After reading @daeus-lamb‘s recent concern over his possible marketing disaster, and after reading the Writer’s Journey Plan again and noticing the mention of “platform building stuff coming soon”, I’d like to open the floor.
Because…I hate to admit this, but I still don’t know how to do this platform building stuffingans. This is coming from…[Read more]

@daeus-lamb she was suggested by a fellow author friend of mine. We met at a coffee shop and got to talk for a while, and she told me how she became an editor and what she valued as a fellow writer. I could tell she would be honest with me and also focus on my problem areas based on that conversation.

(For once, I think I’m in time in responding to you :P)
Looking at the webpage link you supplied above, and specifically the book cover, I’m thinking of an Indiana Jones adventure… or maybe (to eliminate the cultural reference 🙂 – historical or modern archeological-related adventure, with some mystery related to some ancient…[Read more]

A basic premise could be that the reader walks with a woman when they see two soldiers dying at the edge of a battlefield. The reader’s powers are alluded to and he appears to be a supernatural being when he can perceive the two soldier’s dying thoughts and their pasts regarding a woman they loved. The reader hesitates, then…[Read more]

@piperbee I think the beauty of second person is that although we are talking to the reader, we can make them into whoever we want them to be for the story’s purpose. i.e. “After your mom died, you found yourself taking up her sword and hunting orcs in the forests that bordered your family’s lands.”
I kind of found a better understanding from…[Read more]

@the-fledgling-artist I’m glad you enjoyed the episode! Huh, that’s an interesting question. 🙂 I can’t think of any answers but I admit I’m curious to see what others would say. Any thoughts @josiah, @daeus-lamb? (And anyone else but this seems kinda up your alley. :P)

I appreciate this article, as yet another needed reminder to be disciplined as a writer, and to set and keep goals for myself in that regard. But when I actually put this into practice I’ll let you know. Been distracted recently and haven’t gotten as much writing done as I want to.

So the last Prayer page got buried pretty far back, so I’m going to resurrect it here, and start off with a couple of requests.
My mom’s sister and her husband have been going through a really hard time lately. My aunt had two miscarriages, and my uncle’s mother died after which his dad committed suicide. The whole family needs a lot of prayer,…[Read more]

@daeus-lamb Not until now. It could be a good idea, but I can’t look at Facebook, cause I don’t have it, and I’d rather read open articles, or get advice from people I know, like you guys. Good idea though… I’ll think about it.
