@eden-anderson No, not yet. My brother still has to look through my computer, somehow, to see if they’re mysteriously hiding, but I’ve pretty much resigned myself to the loss. I have most of the stuff on backup, just not some more recent poems, flash fiction, and editing on novels.

@andrew-schmidt – Yeah, it’s really hard to explain to someone that it’s steampunk technology, but an old and antiquated form of it, because most people think of steampunk as futuristic.

And one tip more – persevere. I’ve only been doing this for about a year and I’m already good enough that people ask me for projects for their books. The things I made first are awful! But you just keep going and you get better. Keep on keeping on!

Thanks for the suggestions! What I was really trying to find was map things that are more unique; instead of forests, rivers, and mountains, try deserts, waterfalls, swamps, etc. Thank you for the help!
