Hi Jared (@jared-williams),
Yeah, I get it. But the idea that anything but God can give life is where I diverge. I have always hated zombie stories because it seems to imply a life after death that is wholly given credit to “devils”. The only thing I might could concede is animated dead flesh with another entity in possession of the body. But…[Read more]

Yes, I have 10 other races of good humanoids and 5 bad races. That does not include the countless hybrids of humanoids. lol You have good points that I have personally wrestled with on a realistic level comparing animals and how venom works.
Your idea is mostly correct, though I was hoping to avoid…[Read more]

Nice to see you again!
Thank you so much, that answers all my questions. I was aware that longswords are actually pretty light but it slipped my mind… 🙃. So my boy will have bad bruising, a nasty cut, and lots of stitches. Got it.
Glad I could help! 😀 Have fun torturing your characters! XD

wasn’t sure who else to call out to, but I remembered you did ask to be updated if I posted another section… This one isn’t too emotional, like the last one, but hopefully a bit of fun…

In the following section, I am wondering if it is too long winded, if it is <i>boring or drags… Hanniumm just recovered from his injuries and Aefflaed challenges him to prove he is recovered by transforming into a tannink’esh, a creature she has only heard about but doesn’t know much about besides that it is a mythical, legendary creature. If…[Read more]

@obrian-of-the-surface-world, I took @storysmith ‘s venom scenario differently
A few drops = paralysis and infection leading to slow death
Small doses = death
Medium doses = death and reanimation into feral, mindless creatures – but not Kragvora.
Large doses = death and reanimation into a full-blown Kragvora.
I’ve seen zombie movies do this…[Read more]

sounds reasonable to me, and adds flavor and options to your writing style.

Hi Joshua (@storysmith),
Are the other characters (non-Kragvora) human? I would think the lethality of the venom would increase with the dosage. If a small dosage is lethal, then the victim would be dead before the venom had a chance to permeate its circulatory system or infect tissues. There are a variety of factors as far as effects that wo…[Read more]

@obrian-of-the-surface-world @jared-williams
I have thought a little more into the Kragvora’s venomous abilities as they can turn someone into them with their venom. What would a small or medium-dose do to a person? I then came up with a full dose can change someone into them but a medium dose can turn someone into a mad and hungry feral humanoid…[Read more]

@emma-walker I was kind of thinking of switching between characters, depending on where Samantha goes.
It would start with her on a beach, a large city behind her with towering sky scrapers near its center.
I’m a bit busy at the moment, so I’m not sure how quickly I’ll be able to respond, but I will when I can. -

Thank you. It’s actually a big part of his character. He regularly puts himself in danger in my stories to protect those he cares about, regardless of the danger to himself. In fact, my first story with Abirami ends with him taking very dangerous essence-boosting pills just to help his family escape the enemy, which puts him in a coma (which is…[Read more]

I am actually near the end of this novel. Just one more scene, then the final battle. (and any wrap up after it…) so I may be asking for beta readers soon…

Okay, I picked a name let’s go!!
Name: Halmar. (Pronounced just like you’d think XD) Often goes by Hal.
Age: Again… not quite sure. I think about 20.
Appearance: Maybe about 6′, looks pretty similar to Mejt. You can definitely tell they’re siblings. Same light, curly hair.
He’s wearing plain, common clothes like Mejt.
Personality: Again……[Read more]

Yes, I only just now got to this. Was it worth it?ABSOLUTELY
This. Was. Amazing. Your heart and soul seemed to be poured out into this scene, one of those moments where your fingers pound the keys and the scene in your brain just… comes. Beautifully.
Tag me if you ever post more. 🙂

Sorry, if this is overloading you, but I can’t thank you enough.
Hey, no problem! I have time specifically set apart for critiquing, so it’s just a matter of whether I’m diligent or not. 😛

“There’s many caves in the forest. My people use them often, some are even homes.” K’Nika explained softly, “But like I said earlier, I was mining the rock.”
Kallun nodded and he and Pia both said at the same time, “Lighlorite.”
K’Nika nodded, munching on an onion.

“oh, I’m so sorry!” Ellie said placing a fish and a few onion pieces on each “plate”
Julian grabbed the first two she finished for himself and K’Nika.
“how’d you end up in that cave place we were in?” he asked handing her the food
