I’m not exactly sure how to start this, but I have an idea I’d like to try if that’s alright with you. I was wondering if we could do something based in the world that I’m currently writing for.

It’s a bit different than your previous rp, as the setting is modern fantasy, but there are many high fantasy type worlds connected to it, and its not uncommon for otherworldly travelers to find themselves in this city.

It’d be a good exercise in worldbuilding for me, and I’d love to introduce you to the city of Sea Side Point if that’s alright with you.

@ajstoryteller that’s fine with me. I’ll used my sailor, Samantha, I think.

Do you want her to be an otherworldly traveler accidentally stranded in the city, or someone already living in the world?

The world, which I’m currently calling Terra, is mostly under the impression that fantastical beings and other worlds don’t exist, and is similar to ours in that and in technology.

Sea Side Point is a bit strange as a result, as several fantastical things have happened there, but the information never seems to reach the rest of the world.

I hope I’m not making this more complicated than it needs to be…

She can just find herself in the city, I think.

Yeah, it mostly did but lemme go drink coffee and get some caffeine lol

Perhaps if she’s a sailor, she wound up in this world during a storm?

Portals to other worlds are likely to appear in such chaos, and look like swirling vortexes of natural materials nearby, with light and music also coming from them.

So in a wild storm at sea, one forms in front of Samantha, made of lightning, wind, and water. A song comes from it, a peaceful tune drastically contrasting the chaos around her. Before she knows what to make of it, the ship is pitched by a wave and she’s sent forward into the gateway…

@emma-walker I was kind of thinking of switching between characters, depending on where Samantha goes.

It would start with her on a beach, a large city behind her with towering sky scrapers near its center.
I’m a bit busy at the moment, so I’m not sure how quickly I’ll be able to respond, but I will when I can.

                        @ajstoryteller Cool.

Samatha looked around, bewildered. What just happened? Where am I?

She had been headed back home to Frappeli, when the storm hit. Home, to her father and her little boy. But she couldn’t remember what happened.

She clutched at the hilt of her rapier that hung at her waist, her insides twisting and making her feel sick.
After gazing a moment out over the water, she turned and eyed the buildings. She was in unfamiliar territory. All she wanted was to get back home.
