@writercatherine Wikia sounds pretty cool 🙂 Haha, Silveny is awesome! YES COUNCILLOR ALINA. *glares at her* And Lord Cassius. How dare he be such an awful father to Keefe. I just so happened to have book 4 as the book where I began having to wait for new books to come out… what an awful book cliffhanger! I just personally lean toward Keefe I…[Read more]

@j-a-penrose @steward-of-the-pen @evelyn Thanks for the vote of confidence! And excellent questions @writercatherine . My thoughts on those working with dragons is that while they might be seen as elite, how much depends really on the social context; a farmer who gets a new drake might be the talk of the town, like some guy who gets a new…[Read more]

@writercatherine YAY!!! Someone else who reads it!
I’ve read all of them and caught up to the timing of the releases shortly before book 4 came out. I’m so excited for Flashback! My sister and I have it preordered from Barnes and Noble (even though we live in Canada, where there is no Barnes and Noble) because there’s the special edition with…[Read more]

@writercatherine, okay. Thanks!
I’ll have to probably check that thing of yours out tomorrow, because I have a time limit on Story Embers.
But anyway, what is your favorite thing to create?

@writercatherine
I was thinking a little more about “The Rebellion” yesterday, and there was something I realized I wanted to clarify about the poem.
What I really liked about “The Rebellion” was the way the rhythm and rhyme worked together to make the poem flow well. I also liked the theme, which to me was discussing a Christian’s perseverance to…[Read more] -

I like the changes! 🙂
When I was reading through “The Rebellion,” I thought you might have made lines 17-18 a little too short with the new revisions. However, as I read them again I realized the sudden change in length actually adds to the mood. The rapid lines force the reader to think about what’s being said, draw the reader…[Read more] -

@anne-of-lothlorien and @writercatherine There are multiple ways to answer the riddle. Hope was my original one, but there’s also love – which I like a lot. Is it alright to have a few different answers? Somehow, it doesn’t seem quite right.
The last stanza also seems like it might cause a bit of confusion as to what the answer might be. Wou…[Read more]

Hello Catherine! I enjoyed reading these poems you’ve posted! I’m not exactly the greatest with meter and scansion, but I hope I can still be of some assistance.Overall, I think the meters of both your poems flowed fairly well. I liked the mood the short meter created in “The Rebellion” but also thought lines 8, 10, and 17 wer…[Read more]

@writercatherine I’m not too much of a worldbuilder: I fill out some questionnaires and figure out what I need to know for the plot. However, I wouldn’t recommend that method because it makes for some pretty stereotypical worlds and such 😛
However, there is one storyworld I have that I’ve gone really deep in, and I’ve found that the key is to…[Read more]

@writercatherine great topic! What @hope-ann said, obviously. 😉 Also I like to approach culture using four basic pillars: History, Religion, Geography, and Economy. Come up with a basic summary for each of those four and your culture is well-rounded and broad. All that remains is to develop each pillar more deeply and in better detail.
What I…[Read more]
