You have seen the notification that there is a guild war coming. Holding your breath between your teeth, you click on the notification.
“We’ll win the war this time.” The thought brushes, feather-light, against your mind. “Just what exactly is it?”
A war of You.
Well Parimis! After that fantastic smashing of a word war, I think it’s time…[Read more]

Interesting- any particular works in mind?
Well, the culture itself would definitely promote evil things that tear people down emotionally and spiritually, but he wants it to the point where the members of said culture take the momentum themselves to carry it through to where it even crosses over into physical…[Read more]

@taylorclogston I had no idea there was so many points supporting this.
Though I have heard of the concept before.
My brother actually mentioned that to me a while back. But he didn’t give any facts he just kept laughing and saying “Jar-Jar’s a SITH!” 😄
Thanks for pointing all this out. I’ll need to look into it. I don’t spend any time l…[Read more] -

Hey guys, sorry this is late. But guess what? It’s May, and time for me to set up some new things for the guild! (It’s also International Star Wars Day, so as a Sith, I’m pretty darn excited about that.)
Back on task though. Today we’re hearing from Maddie about how to gain the habits required to write consistently. I’m excited, because I’m…[Read more]

@taylorclogston I’d say the section with the explanation of how Ollie survived and why they were going to Six Flags. It didn’t really seem to flow as well with the rest of the story and could be modified.

@taylorclogston You’re welcome!
Oh, okay, the introduction makes sense in that light. Yes, I’ve had similar experiences with cutting down to fit word limits. xD Maybe if you were somehow able to make it apparent that the introduction is the same narrator but decades later, it would give it some context that would explain the change in style (so…[Read more]

@pursuewisdom I’m glad you liked the episode! And yes. XD XD I have to admit that the outtakes at the end are quickly becoming my favorite part of each episode. XD
And thanks so much for tagging others. I’m not around the forum that much and didn’t know who all would be interested in this topic. 😅

@taylorclogston Ooh–that Cesar Cruz quote may be a new favorite of mine now. I really like that. And I agree with your points about how unbelievers ask the same questions as believers for the most part. As you allude to, it’s really important to build a common ground with unbelievers before you begin looking at potential answers, and it’s…[Read more]

Well, I listened to the podcast and it was great (as usual), as well as slightly convicting. That quote Josiah mentioned, along the lines of if you arn’t in your bible every day, you shouldn’t be writing every day (apologies for not having the actual quote) hit home and kind of hurt. How can I expect my faith to impact my stories when I’m not even…[Read more]

Whoa.
You are absolutely correct. I’ve read SO many of the books, and I’m still sad that they didn’t model the new movies after them. *cries*

Yes, what @taylorclogston said.
Now, I admit, I have not read the books, but I have picked up snippets of various books from various places, and I think I can rightfully say they would’ve been a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better story than “the first order” and their “death planet”. XD

@taylorclogston It’s funny that you think the protagonist of Fawkes is unlikable, since one of my friends likes him and she has a pretty consistent track record of disliking protagonists, many of whom are similar to him. (For me, protagonists have to be pretty downright despicable or pancake-flat and way underdeveloped for me to not at least…[Read more]

Okay, first off, great work tackling this topic! I love how honest the whole story is. Losing an unsaved loved one is definitely a very painful thing to go through, and I appreciate how you handled it—in showing the peace we can have through trusting in God’s righteous judgement while not presenting an illusion of comfort in the…[Read more]

@taylorclogston That’s interesting what you said about Fawkes. I had my doubts about the book, too, but I’d still like to read it someday. What did you take exception to the most?
What I read- The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley. I highly recommend this book to anyone who hasn’t read it. It has a bit of mild language, but once I got over the ini…[Read more]
