Okay! Here you go:
@this-is-not-an-alien ‘s characters are Ehud and Rosario. They’re currently off on a little surrealistic adventure of their own.
Ehud: Male, 16. Blond, blue eyes. Hyper and easily excited. He’s wearing a blue hoodie. He’s the most adorable precious character and I just want to give him hugs and cupcakes.
Rosario: Femal…[Read more]

<p style=”text-align: left;”>@sparrowhawke nice! I’ve been trying to draw from reference, but it never really works out that well. I don’t think I’m good at realism, but I suppose I won’t know if I don’t practice lol</p>
@rose-colored-fancy I’ve been writing since I was a kid, but I haven’t done it in over half a year now. I’m excited to get ba…[Read more] -

Yes, I’m not terribly fond of the initial ones either. Every YA fantasy book these days is named “The BLANK of BLANK and BLANK” with the same words being used over and over again. They all sound the same and confuse me. And they also don’t tend to make a lot of sense.
LOL, yes! I actually used to like it but it’s an absolute pain to…[Read more]

Hi everyone!
I’ve been
overthinkingrethinking the titles of my series. As most of y’all know, the series in question is a fantasy trilogy in a desert setting. With that for context, onward to the titles.
The initial idea was:
- The Tribe of Sand and Azure
- The Assassins of Mountains and Moonlight
- The Crowns of Blood and Thunder
There are…[Read more]

@sparrowhawke I like this! It’s raw and honest. I don’t think I would change anything in it. Keep writing! 🙂

@sparrowhawke I love barn owls! I think I saw a barn owl once in Seattle, but I was very young, so I usually don’t count it lol. I’ve watched videos of them screaming, but I haven’t heard it in real life. It’s amazing how such an awful sound could come from such a cute bird! We very, very rarely get burriwing owls in our genetal area, but the…[Read more]

@sparrowhawke hummingbirds are so cool! I think that owls are my favorite. So far I’ve seen great horned owls, northern pygmy owls, short eared owls, and a barred owl. I would love to see all of the owl species in my area someday, but they’re so hard to find lol. I also really love California condors and turkey vultures (which we also have…[Read more]

Alrighty, I’m want y’all to help me extended my writing lexicon by supplying me with more apt, concise words that you use to describe things, particularly when it comes to writing descriptions of stone, wood, and cloth objects, such as: jewelry, trinkets, furniture, carvings, cutlery, medieval transportation vehicles, clothing, and any opulent…[Read more]

Okay y’all, I’m curious about a couple things. First off, for those of you who aren’t total beginners (you’ve been writing consistently and with a purpose for a few months or more), approximately how many words do you writer per hour ? Or at least try to write per hour, I know it can vary greatly, and writers get faster and faster the more the…[Read more]

To be honest Bethania, you can do pretty great organization with google drive using well arranged folders, documents, and bulleted or numbered lists. If you want some sort of timeline tool for events, something like Sutori could be useful. Now, it becomes more and more useful to have a special tool (like Scrivener) the bigger the…[Read more]

I love this!! There’s something satisfying and magical about using pen and paper. ❤️
@sparrowhawke Yes Trello can be dragged and changed around. You have lists (brainstorming, first draft, second draft, characters, etc) and within the lists you create cards. You can link documents to the cards, so if you’re like me, and you…[Read more]

Hi Joelle,
Whew! It has been a long and busy week.
Trying to catch up on responding to posts. So, let me clarify a little. These snippets of scenes are extracted from anywhere in a longer work, so they will often be introduced without context or backstory. We are just looking at the intrinsic value of a single scene, which m…[Read more]

I use a little notebook and some Bible verse pens a friend gave me to take small notes on possible plot or character ideas. The Bible verse pens remind me why I’m writing, so that’s a fun tidbit. XD
I do most everything else on the computer. I use Microsoft Word for pretty much everything (the drafts themselves, outlining,…[Read more]

I don’t really have much advice.😄. I’m a panster, so I have a lot of random stuff all over the place. I have a computer folder for each of my WIP’s, and ones for characters, author stuff and reference photos, but other than that, it’s usually all in my head.
One thing I’ve found is that if I don’t keep it, or I don’t remember it,…[Read more]

@sparrowhawke I used my head, mainly, and also Evernote. I’m much more on the pantser side of the spectrum, so plotting-wise I usually have very little.
Usually whenever I start a new project on a notebook, on the second page I jot down the main event I want to happen in each chapter, and then roll with that. Sometimes it changes. Sometimes it…[Read more]

I got Scrivener for my birthday and I really love it! It helps keep everything organized without having to open dozens of folders for it.
I have a section for each chapter, with a couple of sentences on the corkboard feature so I can see the whole outline at once. It’s also pretty easy to change and move around. (Which I do a lot…[Read more]
