      @mariposa I’m very concerned about Edna now. 😂 I hope the next installment brings healing soon. 😆 Also I’ve given up on listening the parts of these stories that made me laugh the most. It’s all hilarious and makes me smile so big. 😁 I’m so glad you do these for us.

        HI! YES. I’M BACK!!!

        And your anecdote about the storybook squirrel tree made me smile so hard. 😁🐿

          @kayla-skywriter I used to have a horse that I loved to bits, so I know what you mean about the smell of horses. There’s nothing else in the world like it. It’s nice to meet you!

          Aha! I feel smart for being the first. 😂 I like Lindsey Stirling’s music, but I haven’t watched many of her music videos. Now I’ll have to watch some so I’ll fully understand the reference! 😄 *laughs* I know what you mean about being more talkative in a classroom. I was the same way when I went to college, once I got past a little shyness.

          @corkybookworm
          *falls over laughing* You’re squishing meeeee. 😂 Yup! I’m back! Not sure <i>exactly</i> how often I’ll be popping in after this weekend, but hopefully at least once a week, ish.

            @myclipboardismyviolin It’s lovely to meet you too!

            *laughs* Same for me. I’ve been writing for 15 years unless you count that fairy tale I wrote involving rabid wolves and true love’s kiss. 😂

            Ack, yes. My family had a quilt shop for several years, and that scent new fabric has is amazing. 😍 Clean fabric in general, actually. Especially cotton. I love the smell of starched cotton shirts.

            Though I haven’t had a lot of time for poeting recently, I am still very poetically inclined! *shakes your hand* From your username, I can’t quite decide if you play the violin or if your literal clipboard is only a metaphorical violin, but I have a fiddle stashed under my bed that needs to come back out soon. Maybe we have an instrument in common, too? 🙂

              Do I need to reintroduce myself when I’ve been absent from the forums for nearly SIX WHOLE MONTHS?! 😮😬 (Except for keeping up with the SE fiction @mariposa writes, of course… 😉) It’s been a CRAAAAZY half a year, but I think I’ll be popping in frequentlyish again, so…*flings pecan leaf confetti everywhere* *hands everyone a squirrel and offers hugs*…I’m back! And…I’ve forgotten basically everyone’s tags. XD

              *goes to look up people I know*

                Annnnd I am now in stitches. 😂😂😂

                This is the best. All the inside jokes. So many balloons. Negotiations over being fired or not. Edna’s eternal usefulness. And “this isn’t anything compared to your edits.” 😆

                  Well, rats. I’ve been gone so long I’ve forgotten everyone’s tags. 😬

                  Okay…

                  @mariposa
                  That was AMAZING, as always. I am in stitches over here. 😂😂😂 I can’t even handle how accurate Martin is. Also I want to know if “I’m a writer, not a cattle wrestler” was a Star Trek reference. 😜

                  Not only is the place desserted, but there was a polite retort. 😆

                        I can vouch for Scarlett. We’re friends. xD No insulting of intelligence, she was just being funny. (And the same thought occurred to me even though I know how many siblings Buddy has, so it really tickled me that Scarlett actually contributed that to the conversation. xD )

                          Hahaha! I changed it recently. xD Glad you like it!

                          That does make sense! *nods* Definitely sounds like it’ll be an interesting couple of character arcs. 😀

                            Hey! I don’t have much to add to this, except that the whole hero-to-villain storyline is soooo sad, but it does sound like a really interesting story. 😀 One question, more for you to consider than specifically for you to answer (though answers are good too)…if the character who originally appears to be the hero isn’t really, is there an actual hero figure in the story?

                              This is such an interesting topic!

                              Now, I’m not a guy, but I *think* (correct me, @wordsmith, if I’m wrong about this) that guys’ crying also tends to be triggered differently than girls’… From my observations, guys tend to cry because something touches them emotionally (joy, sadness, pain, whatever it may be). They may not cry about it right then, but they’re crying about that thing.

                              For me, though, crying tends to be a response to emotional overload. I might cry immediately when something sad happens…or it might be two days later when I’m tired, and I forgot to switch the laundry, and then the dog knocked over my favorite flowerpot. I’m not crying about the fact that the dog just broke half the stems on my flowers, per se…rather, I’m crying because that frustration was what tipped the scales. However, the deeply emotional thing is, of course, the main reason for my tears.

                              I think that’s the reason why sometimes people think girls cry about irrational things, too. As a generalization, we’re often not crying about what it might seem like we’re crying about. And with guys, I think the tears tend to match up with the circumstances a little more. 😛
