@pursuewisdom @serenity I’m tagging you two again because I know I got an email from one of you, but it vanished and I’m not sure who it was from. XD I didn’t get a chance to save the address. If that was one of you, could you send your email address again?
Thanks a thousand ๐

@pursuewisdom I’m glad you liked the episode! And yes. XD XD I have to admit that the outtakes at the end are quickly becoming my favorite part of each episode. XD
And thanks so much for tagging others. I’m not around the forum that much and didn’t know who all would be interested in this topic. 😅

@pursuewisdom Thanks for the tag, and I do have opinions on the topic, but I haven’t gotten around to this week’s episode yet. This was a good reminder. ๐

Thanks for the tag, @pursuewisdom!
The bits from @josiah resonated with me. Seeing people say “It doesn’t matter how good I am, God will work through me!” and “This is for God’s glory, not man’s, so I need not adhere to the standards of man (with, like, editing)” drive me insane. We need to be great storytellers if we want to be great Christian…[Read more]

@evelyn I love Les Mis! (although, that’s Historical Fiction, not Historical Fantasy) It was a nightmare to read at times, but I still think it was worth it.
@pursuewisdom Ooooh, nice thoughts. *nodnod* And lots of different books I haven’t read.
@steward-of-the-pen Fantasy across an entire history? Books that come to mind areย The Silmarillion…[Read more]

Hello Parimis!
I’m going to say now: feeling unmotivated and discouraged is something I struggle with a lot. I don’t tend to deal with it well (you can occasionally walk into my room to find me curled up in blankets on the floor with a lifetime supply of chai-tea and tissues) but it looks like Faith has a few words of wisdom for us…[Read more]

@pursuewisdom I hope you like Mistborn. It takes getting into, but once momentum is achieved the characters have great relationships, and the plotlines are engaging. Allomancy is my favorite Sanderson magic system, fitting his action scene style well and achieving a tangible quantability that his other systems never quite reach. IMO, at least…[Read more]

Hello Parimis!
This is our Weekly Guild Discussion from Brandon this week, and we’ll be looking at a really cool topic: Reading. Without any further rambling at the front, we’ll hand over to Brandon.
Okay so, weโre all writers, right? We weave words and spin tales and generally have a good go at reality. For most of us though, our love for s…[Read more]

@pursuewisdom I really need to read the all the Russian authors at some point. They intimidate me =P That book on Ender’s Game sounds reallyย cool. Weirdly, all the Amazon reviews are for the original book. I’ve also started reading Fawkes, and am about a third of the way through it.
Can confirm, baby birds of all sorts are adorable. I used to…[Read more]

Awesome! Yeah, if you change your mind, that’s okay, but I like that you’re planning on teaching AND writing. I think that’s wise to not rely solely on writing. I’ll look forward to reading your work, I LOVE good dialogue.

I swear I haven’t forgotten you all, just have had a really bad and crazy busy few weeks.
So I’m back again!
The question for this week is:
What is a common historical inaccuracy that really annoys you? (If you need to rant, feel free to include more than one!)

Hello, guild people! ๐
Once my writing teacher told me that every writer had a super power. Something that they were especially good at. Maybe it was wordsmithing, or world building, or description, or connecting readers with a character, or creating a sense of suspense, etc.
So, since I’m still meeting you all, I wanted to know what you think…[Read more]
