@pursuewisdom I really need to read the all the Russian authors at some point. They intimidate me =P That book on Ender’s Game sounds really cool. Weirdly, all the Amazon reviews are for the original book. I’ve also started reading Fawkes, and am about a third of the way through it.

Can confirm, baby birds of all sorts are adorable. I used to live near an emu farm and those things were ridiculously adorable as babies, but I think goslings are peak cuteness for me.

I have tried to eliminate some stressors, but it isn’t working out. Just being around people is stressful, and I have to do that a lot. When I try to take time for myself, I feel guilt that I’m not doing something useful, and that if I keep this up my life will never change. As for the journaling, if I take it up again I really should try to add positive things too. I was using it before as a gauge for how I felt at the end of each day, mostly. My thoughts most days are “I have nothing to be thankful for, unless I‘m going to be thankful for the necessities of life which just keep enabling this misery, but which I guess I have a duty to be thankful for because most people in the world don’t have them.”

I appreciate that you feel the same way as me in your professional life. I’ll pray for you.
