Hey guys, just a quick question. If I created a thread for all the people doing NaNoWriMo to hang out on/do word sprints…would you guys be interested? Or would it just be another distraction? 🙃 There are already a bunch of places for NaNoWriMo peeps to hang out (like the NaNo forums) but I thought I’d suggest this anyways…

@ncstokes Those are cute.
@deeprun Yep. Those are some valuable lessons there, I think ran into some of them. (1&2 for this Inktober) That picture looks really good though. 🙂
@ariella-newheart oooh, it’s pretty.
@sageinthemeadow Never give up! Never surrender! 😀 Those are beautiful! I love them!

@deeprun *winces* I understand. Digital art can be tricky. (Seriously, those skin tones!) Good job on that most recent picture. What was the prompt for it?
And yeah, I’m behind a few days, too. It’s mostly because I couldn’t think of anything to draw based on the prompts. I managed to do one today, though.
Makes me wonder what that guy…

@ncstokes, Insanity indeed! XD I can’t wait to see what you create. I had a hard time coming up with an idea for today, but I think I finally have something I like. We’ll see how it turns out. 😛

@ncstokes Sounds like fun! What type of songs do you like to write? How do you get inspiration for them?
@w-o-holmes Autumn hasn’t quite started for me yet but that sounds lovely. I am pretty sure I have read some Whitman in one of my collections. What of his poems would you suggest?

@ncstokes Oh my goodness, really? *blushes* O.o
I try. XD
But wait… you write song lyrics?? How have I not known this! And yes I think this question applies to songwriting.

There are a lot of good thoughts here already, so I suppose I’m mostly going to be piggybacking off what other people have said! 🙂 Like @ncstokes alluded to, I don’t see a lot of representation of characters with mental illnesses or disorders in the Christian fiction I’ve read. The closest I’ve seen people generally get is by portraying…[Read more]

For resources on writing characters with a mental illness, Blame it on the Brain and Counseling the Hard Cases are both about understanding and treating mental illness with a Christian mindset. It’s was interesting to see issues that I thought were purely medical that could be treated through counseling. (Although to be clear, both books encourage…[Read more]
