Dealing with the emotional roller coaster that is a must for a teenage girl, and battling the “I’m almost done with school” drag. Other than that, fine and dandy! What about you?

Nithel nodded a bit when he suggested there might be books of their worlds. But he looked hurt and evasive about it. Alessio stared at his friend, the delighted light in his eyes starting to shatter. What happened, had he done something? Was Nithel ok?
“Perhaps there is,” Jericho said uneasily and began to turn over books with him. A wave of gui…[Read more] -

Where am I? What is this place?
The thought floated through Malvat’s head, spoken in a strong voice. A newcomer? Did all mankind enjoy hiding in the shadows instead of presenting themselves as soon as they arrived?
Malvat turned towards the thought, narrowing his eyes at a pile of books and scrolls on the floor, no longer concealed by the…[Read more]

This thread may be dying, but I discovered the word chary today. It means the same thing as wary, apparently.
“He walked with a chary air, suspicious of everything and hesitant to trust.”
It is also apparently a homophone of ‘cherry’.

“Maybe there’s a book about your world here…”
Jericho’s deep blue eyes flicked upwards in alarm. If such a book were indeed here, it was likely to contain a more accurate version of the story she told. After all, it was part of the founding legend of the Kithnarya. Jericho had rarely shared her role in the story with anyone; she had told the l…[Read more]

Hey guys! I just had a few questions I’d like to ask about your opinions on Dominic.
(If any of y’all are wanting to ask some questions about your own villain, feel free!)
So Dominic has been a very interesting character to deal with. I really did no development on him and just kinda went with whatever my fingers decided to type. Obviously,
most…[Read more] -

“Do not let me hold you back.” Nithel said with a small smile that made Alessio smile back a little, suddenly warm inside and a little bewildered by it. “But be careful Alessio.”
His friend’s protectiveness touched him, although he had a hard time taking it seriously with everything that’d already happened to him. It seemed like a fact of fate tha…[Read more] -

(@everyone I’mma use this to set up something for Brendin, so if you wouldn’t mind the other characters not going past the veil for a bit that would be great. 🙂 )
“Perhaps,” he murmured to the man with the grey eyes. “Perhaps we should proceed with caution.”
Brendin glanced at the dragon warily, but ignored his warning for the moment. …[Read more]

I’m actually pretty tired, I’ve been dog- and house-sitting the past two nights and didn’t get nearly enough sleep, but last night was the last night and I get to sleep in tomorrow morning 🙂 .
And I’m really excited about my bro, his fiancee is really sweet and kind and I can’t wait for her to officially be my sister. She’s so…[Read more]

Alessio blinked, trying to shrug off his thoughts, and glanced up. Beside him, Nithel seemed upset. Had he done something, what’s wrong? Maybe something he said reminded Nithel of some old wound or…Nithel was sad for him…?
Things are better or…at least getting better. I’m fine, it’s ok. Please don’t cry. He never should’ve said anything, he sh…[Read more]

Malvat stared over the heads of the mankind into the circular room. Through one door four beds took up a wall, through another he could see a spacious library-type room, and through a third there was a comfortable rug in a large globe-shaped room. His nostrils flared as he picked up the scent of a crackling fire. Great. The Bearers had fuel.
“I…[Read more]

(Sorry for the delay, my brother got engaged and life became very chaotic all of a sudden)
After what may have been hours or minutes – or possibly days, it was tremendously difficult to discern in this castle – and a great deal of winding downwards, the corridor deposited them into a spacious circular room with a few other chambers leading off it…[Read more]

So, this is something I really struggle with and am trying to improve on, so I decided that (like most things) it can be turned into a fun and hopefully helpful game. Here’s how it works:
Post a short description of any of your characters, and critique someone who posted earlier.
Now, just to be clear, this isn’t about what the characters…[Read more]

Thanks! It’s not Connel (although that would definitely fit him too, in a different way). It’s from the main villain who I don’t even dare put in the Villain’s Castle because his identity would give so many spoilers! (probably not as many as I imagine. But still!)Thank you! I loved the bit from your book lol! I would d…[Read more]

I’m doing well.
He doesn’t even know what that word means, and the feeling isn’t even completely formed but- *stops, and blinks a few times* He does. He… is having weird feelings for Jericho. His first time… oy… *babies grow up fast* *eish*
…how did that happen? Although, Jericho is single and would not be opposed to companionship.

Jericho smiled, a pleasant and friendly smile, when Alessio finished his story. “That was quite a display,” she told him warmly. “You have a gift for telling tales, my young friend.”
“I have a tale. It is not a happy one, although I hope it ends well.”

Malvat curled his bulk around the cavern, wishing it would enlarge like the tunnel had. Despite his power-enforced hide, the spikes lining the walls, floor, and ceiling made it uncomfortable. He should just grind them into dust, or break them all off and toss them into the fiery inferno beyond the tunnel, but he decided those actions might invoke…[Read more]
