The main thing I like to create with needle-felting is articulated figures of a fantasy race I made up (I’ll see if I can post a pic) that is reminiscent of a tree-frog. I want to do a couple of the other races in this world as well eventually. I’ve only made two and a half figures so far.
I don’t know how it…[Read more]

You’re welcome! Ooo, now I’m intrigued by your idea; do you have a name for your MC?
Not yet, it’s barely an idea XD I only have a faint idea that I want it to be set in a port city, and it’s in an approximately Edwardian era. It’ll probably involve pirates and spies too XD
Awesome! I love Katherine Rundell’s books so m…[Read more]

@imwritehere1920 More or less! You start out at 10th rank and then work up to 1st rank, then begin the black belt progression which unintuitively begins at 1st rank and moves upward from there. You have to demonstrate proficiency with a different set of martial arts skills and meet a standard of maturity to move to the next rank. I took karate for…[Read more]

Aww, thank you! Yes, I did! It’s a digital painting of a character who may become the MC of an idea. Awesome to meet another Ascendence fan, btw! Those books are the best!
Totally! I like it much better than the translation. The title is both original and quite intriguing since it gives you a lot of…[Read more]

@devastate-lasting I really like those choices! I love the drawn-out nature of a lot of those original Japanese titles. The Town Where Only I Am Missing is probably my favorite on that list. I also really like your I Hid Beneath My Umbrella So the Adults Wouldn’t See Me Cry.
@rose-colored-fancy I like The Rooftoppers title!

Thank you, one and all!
Since the new one personally geeks my little heart the most and since the consensus is slightly more behind that one, I chose that as my base but I tried to integrate more substantial descriptions of the internal conflicts and…[Read more]

So true!! That’s something I admire a lot about MG. It makes it so that it’s understandable, but, yes, without sounding superior or something.

*whispers* Of course. I shall stay silent. *brings finger to mouth*
Hmm.. I suppose it was a friend, actually! I believe she writes YA, and she, along with several other people, introduced me to writing, and I just wanted to try YA, like her. 😛 HBU?

Hi Lily! Nice to meet you. 🙂 Thank you so much for taking the time to share your ideas! They were all super helpful.
This story is YA. I’m thinking that Rubi is around 20ish.
Rubi is the main POV character. I have been thinking about adding Ikal (the son of the man whose memory was wiped) as another POV character, but I’m not…[Read more]

Thanks for the tip! I probably won’t contact them, but thanks for letting me know!
Nelson is really good at writing. However, I don’t like all of her books, and I don’t think any of them gripped me like The False Prince did. A Night Divided was pretty good though. I was reading another about a girl who was smuggling books, or she…[Read more] -

Hi!
I haven’t really been selling too many copies, but I think it’s going pretty well. My library ordered six copies so that’s exciting! I started the sequel, but (one death later) I didn’t know exactly where I was heading with it and got side-tracked with other projects. I’m in the middle of waiting to hear back from queries…[Read more]

It most definitely was!! Thank you so much for taking the time to help me with my dilemma 😛 That’s a really efficient and easy-to-incorporate idea. Thank you! (Honestly, I probably should’ve thought of it before starting this whole thread, haha)

Hi!
Thank you for taking a look at my book! I’m currently in the process of making it a paperback (by the way, it’s soo frustrating! I just spend 28 minutes talking to Kindle Direct Publishing trying to troubleshoot a problem).
Have you published a book?
I like to write middle grade fiction because I read it a lot! I also like…[Read more]
