Okay, everybody.
Epic reveal:
I could’t decide on the title Fish: Child, or Child Fish. Votes would be appreciated. Of if you have a better title suggestion, that would also be appreciated.
The human might need a name, too, but I’m not as worried about that.
Other than that, edit away. Which kind of scares me, but this is going t…[Read more]

Hey guys, sorry I’m late this week. I had a lot on my plate.
Better late than never though.
When it comes to character development, one of the stupidest things I ever did was ignore backstory. (Head, this is wall. Wall, meet head.)
I’m still not an expert at it though, so I wanted to ask: how do you develop a character’s backstory? Along the…[Read more]

My mind is blown.
Thanks for posting links to tests, @daeus-lamb. I think I never actually took a test, just read descriptions and picked what seemed to fit. I was wrong!
Apparently I’m an INFJ, not INFP. I was skeptical until I read the description. Everything is spot on. lol. I think I’m a believer in those tests, now 😉 And it was quite…[Read more]

Hey Saxon Scribes,
If you checked our guild war calendar recently, you’d know that this is the date for another story prompt competition. I know our story (and we as writers) will benefit a lot if everyone participates and shares their input.
Here’s the prompt for this guild war:
Write any story you choose with the most original and creative p…[Read more]

@kate *fist bump back, but fails to see how it’s any more quiet than any other fist bump*
*In my best Armie Hammer impression* Is it really that obvious?
@daeus-lamb I’m honored that you’re honored.
Wait… are you discrediting the authenticity of the other INTPs on the forum?
There’s a lot of people on here that I haven’t met yet. Did the…[Read more]

@daeus-lamb @kate I was going to contribute meaningfully to the conversation, but…. CHOPSTICKS ARE THE BEST EVER and I wish I could eat everything with them.
*gives you both one of Halt’s withering looks* Except I don’t think he took too kindly to chopsticks either.
Anyways, I’m with @germaine-han in that I don’t feel guilt terribly deeply,…[Read more]

Saxon Scribes,
Lo, guilt is fascinating.
I totally love it. The Scarlet Letter, Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamazov. These are like butter on bread to me.
Guilt is something we don’t see a lot these days. About the only times it’s used in fiction, it’s used poorly. The guilt isn’t fully built up to, doesn’t feel authentic, and leads t…[Read more]

@germaine-han, Yes! It was beautiful! There were a lot of awesome mountains where we lived and great climate. It was beautiful. We lived in a small town for most of our time there, but for the first two years we lived in a little village. The village was in a valley. And while it was hot, it was beautiful. During the rainy season things would be…[Read more]

@germaine-han, we used to live in Mexico. Ugh, saddly, my Spanish is disappearing. We still practice in school, but it’s still not as good as it should be. I can understand pretty good still. I just need to practice speaking it.
Oh, that’s okay. I really loved them, once I read them all. And now they’re among my favorites. 🙂 What is your…[Read more]

@germaine-han Your family is just the perfect size for your family. 😀
It’s no problem not liking Tolkien… if everyone in the world was alike, think how boring that would be? You just get to love other awesome things!
But, if you’re gonna try to introduce yourself to it, I’d say start with the Lord of the Rings. Plus, don’t get discouraged if…[Read more]

Okay… That makes a lot of sense. I have read the Hobbit, and don’t enjoy it nearly as much as LOTR. The Hobbit is not even among my favorites. LOTR is up there… Like at the pinnacle. It might start of a little slow… But it is worth the read (for me at least). I’ve read The Lord Of The Rings, three full times, and bit and…[Read more]

Hello! And welcome to Story Embers, @germaine-han! I also have only one other sibling. My little brother. He’s two years younger than me. 🙂
Yeah, I used to me a TCK and a MK, but then we moved. 🙁
Are you homeschooled?
*Gasp* Not a fan of Tolkien! B-but, how? What about C. S. Lewis. Please? Nah, I’m just kidding. It’s fine, just… Surprising.…[Read more]

Yes, the title of this thread is a joke. Yes, this is an icebreaker.

Tries not to scream in anger. 😉
NOT A FAN OF TOLKIEN?!?!?
Just kidding, I’m sure you’re tired of hearing everyone geek out about Lord of the Rings here. 🙂
( And good job @wordsmith … proud of you for not declaring war. 😉 )
@germaine-han What books do you like to read?

Wordsmith replied to the topic Hello! in the forum Introduce Yourself 7 years, 8 months ago
That’s cool! There’s nothing wrong with having a small family.
What’s a TCK? That’s not a term I’ve heard of before today.
Also… When you say you’re not a Tolkien fan, does that mean you read LOTR and wasn’t impressed? Or did you never get through all of it? 🙂
(@evelyn will be so proud of me for not declaring warXD)
