Your comments on Moonflower actually prompted me to write this poem. Thanks so much for guiding me toward more imagery!

Beautiful! I especially appreciate the line, “It’s no man’s land that the sun drowns red.”

@lianajdouglas Oh my goodness, yes! I actually struggle to write fiction, but poetry just…comes! (Not that it isn’t hard though haha)

@lianajdouglas Beautiful! I especially loved the first verse. 😉 Great rhymes that don’t seem awkward; they fit well and flow smoothly.

@kb-writer You have no idea how much this means to me!!! <3
I took your advice to add more images to the last poem I posted (Moonflower), and then it was obvious that my other poems needed a little love too. 😉  I started this poem right after you gave me that tip, so thank you for guiding me in the right direction!

Hello! 🙂 I would love criticism/positive comments regarding this poem. This is the fourth draft of this poem, so I’m aware that it’s still a bit green and needs accurate punctuation. The point of my posting this is to see where to take the poem through my next revision.
Here are some…[Read more]

@sir-leeds Thanks! I hadn’t thought too much about straightforwardness vs subtleness in my poetry. Now I see that it’s much needed. 😀

@kb-writer Thank you so much for your advice!!
When I was writing this, I actually wasn’t thinking of true beauty. I was trying to communicate, in a very general sense, that Christians may appear to be like everyone else, but in times when non-believers cannot thrive, (like difficult trials and dark times) Christians shine their light and still…[Read more]

@kb-writer I find it interesting that most people started with free-verse, then went on to meter. I actually started with meter/rhyme, then got comfortable with free-verse. (I’ve been free-versing much more lately.) I don’t know which is easier…maybe if you’re an accomplished writer free-verse is??
Side note: I rarely write fiction. I mostly…[Read more]
