I can’t wait for this to start!
Also, I think I’m going to add to Amber’s backstory that she’s studying nursing part-time at a nearby college. It’s something I was thinking about including in her character, and it might be helpful later depending on what happens in the roleplay. XD -

Well, I guess the pessimism wasn’t unrealistic, but it was a bit too much. Besides at the end, there’s really only one or two scenes where Luke is portrayed in a lighter mood. I think it would’ve been a little more realistic and engaging if we’d seen a broader spectrum of emotions from him other than cynicism.
Yeah, what was the…[Read more] -

I definitely want to go through these questions; hopefully I can get you some answers this week, if that works. (Do want the answers to cover all three chapters or just Chapter 3?) -

Hey, don’t worry about it! I know it can be hard to respond sometimes (especially since I can take awhile…). 🙂
I like your sequencing for the characteristic moment. I have a little trouble with this part of the plot because it almost seems like there’s two characteristic moments: the time frame you described and the events between…[Read more] -

I had a little trouble deciding between the roleplay or a WIP character, but I finally chose an old WIP character who could use a little development. 🙂
Name: Amber Povanovich (or something like that)
Gender: Female
Age: mid-twenties
Race: American
Height: I haven’t actually thought about this one, but I guess she’d be around…5 foot 9…[Read more] -

I think you forgot to tag me. XD I’ve only read the first few letters so far, but hopefully I’ll be able to come and help with the editing later today or tomorrow. -

Oh, sorry; I just wanted to let you know about an added detail from an above post about the poetry door. I copied it down here (credit to Dakota’s sister).
He (or she) stepped up to the ivy covered wall. Brushing back the green leaves, he studied the golden object. It was a plaque of some sort of writing on it. He leaned closer and read…[Read more]

Haha, I was right! *pops some popcorn for the next installment*
There is one little thing I would change in Chapter 3. It’s the part where one of the cards is identified as an angel. I don’t think an angel really belongs in a game called the Monster King since angels aren’t monsters but rather holy beings who stand in the presence of…[Read more] -

Yeah, I get what you mean. I actually have mixed feelings about The Last Jedi; there’s parts I thought were good (like Finn’s arc), but there’s also a lot of ideas/scenes that could’ve been presented better. And I don’t really appreciate Luke’s portrayal in the movie either… -

Quick question: Are we using our Meraki roleplay character or a character from one of our WIPs, or does it not matter either way? -

Oh, I see. Thank-you for that clarification about the twins. (Please excuse my EU ignorance; I’ve only skimmed Wikipedia articles about this part of the Star Wars universe. XD) It’s kinda strange seeing Ben as Luke’s son in the Expanded Universe as opposed to Han’s in the new trilogy movies.
Speaking of the new trilogy, how do you…[Read more] -

This is a very nice poem! I liked the imagery of walking through the woods with God. I think “blind things” is a little too vague, but other than that (and the points made above), this poem has a good rhythm as well as great specific descriptions.
Well, the good news is I can tell you that this style would most likely be classified as “prose…[Read more] -

Yeah, I really appreciate K2’s frankness. He’s definitely my favorite Rogue One character. 🙂
I haven’t read any of the Expanded Universe novels, and I’m only a little familiar with a few plot threads. (Han and Leia have twin boys, and I think Chewbacca dies in one of the books.)
Now, I recognize Chirrut, and I think it’s safe to…[Read more] -

I think I like all the movies to one degree or another (except Solo, which I have not seen), but The Empire Strikes Back is definitely my favorite, with A New Hope following close behind. I also like The Phantom Menace, Rogue One, and the character arcs in Revenge of the Sith. What do you like best about Attack of the Clones?

(This article actually helps me as a writer because it gives me some ideas for what areas I could ask someone to specifically look at during a beta read.)
@jane-maree, do you have any advice about how to line-edit without seeming overly critical?

E.B. Raulands replied to the topic Chloe and Zoe in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 3 months ago
I really enjoyed the details about the card game! I had a little trouble picking up how it was played at first, but I understood how to play once the game was underway. And I can’t help but think that the Monster King card is an allusion to future events or perhaps the mysterious figure…
