@ajaj2000 Hah, I’ve beenย crazy busy! Got a new job, moved into a new place, started a new class at a new school, and volunteering for my sister’s band, and and and…I don’t seem to have ANY time! I’m barely keeping up with basic chores and work, let alone homework and personal goals like writing and reading! I can’t wait for all this to SETTLE down!!

Good evening, Ereki!
Thinking over your feedback from last week, I’ve decided to alter the direction of our annual theme discussion a bit: incorporate more analyzing of stories and practice exercises, though with an occasional discussion and article. However, I’m saving a “writing” exercise for next week, since we’re working on our guild war…[Read more]

Hello fellow Ereki! Today I present to you my September piece for the critique challenge–the first half of chapter one from my WIP, Firemaster.ย *confetti*
Now, as to what I’d like for critique, I’d like to focus on three main areas:
- Flow–how does the story flow? Is it easy to understand, or are there some confusing parts? How to the…

Audrey Caylin started the topic 2018 Week 18: Check-in time! in the forum Annual Theme Discussion 7 years, 8 months ago
Well, it’s Tuesday night, so I’m a bit late for this. My classes started up this week so things are a bit hectic ๐
That aside, this week’s annual theme discussion is a bit different. Different in that I’m asking where are you at with our annual theme discussion? In the future, are there any areas you’d like me to cover more, suggestions for…[Read more]

@karthmin yes, that’s fine. Sorry for the delayed response!
@sarah-inkdragon post in here, or create a new topic in the “critiques” sub-form.
@allison-grace I think that would be a good idea. I know some of us may write darker content than others like to read, so giving everyone a heads up would be good.
@ajaj2000 I’m sorry to hear about your…[Read more]

Well… they’re back. The guild wars have finally returned ๐
If this is your first war, here’s a rundown of the rules:
โ This is a prompt war, which means weโll be given a writing prompt and must write something based on that prompt (clean and under 2500 words).
โ This is a team event, so as many people as possible should try to work toget…[Read more]

Audrey Caylin replied to the topic 2018 Week 16: When to pull back on conflict in the forum Annual Theme Discussion 7 years, 9 months ago
@ajaj2000 very good point! Sometimes we can fall into the trap of thinking we need conflict all the time, but there are moments, like you mentioned, when it’s best to pull back. It also makes our stories more realistic ๐
