I don’t have three, and am completely fine with two. I just brought it up because @joelle-stone mentioned that one of her characters is from the same country as someone else’s two characters, making three per country. This was also from a while ago and may have changed.
What I know in my head and what I believe in my heart are two entirely different things.

Thanks so much (it helps to have others make decisions for me)! I’ll think more about Nori, but I’ll probably choose diplomat. It sounds more interesting then making up laws anyway, LOL
As for Kix, eesshh…. I’ll have to think more about him. *sigh, thinking thinking….grabs snack… thinking thinking*

Your characters sound so cool! And those electric swords were such a good idea, I’m lovin’ it! Those twins are definitely staying in the game.
Sorry I didn’t see that other post about B’s backstory things, this will be responding to that…
Totally fine! 😉
That rite sounds like a cool idea, but I don’t know…. indirectly might work better… Maybe it could be when B’s the ‘top rat’ (and thanks! It does sound like street slang, LOL), and he has a bunch of different people under him because a criminal mastermind doesn’t do everything himself, XD; and so this guy under B gets a guy under him who’s under that guy to kill B’s brother — pretty much what you said, :P. Maybe B knows about it when it happens, maybe not. I dunno. This might not work, anyway. It probably won’t. I am so depressing, aren’t I?
I did do the artwork for my characters, thanks!
Your welcome! 😀 I’m just curious, how did you do it? Is it digital art? Or did you paint it? Sorry, I just like art!
@everybody
I have two characters: Kix and Nori.
And that brings to mind something I thought of: there are 5 of us. We each have 2 characters, but I think one of us had an extra one so that he/she could be part of the slave thing. That’s 11 characters. But we only have 8 branches to win. That leaves 3 extra characters, which I’m assuming go to the slave thing, right? Just wanted to make sure I get this.
And I remembered something else! *sigh* The judges thing. Yeah, those are our judges. I wasn’t clear in posing my question because I supposed you guys knew how to read minds, LOL. I do this a lot, my fault. *nervous chuckle* Anyhow, I thought we were having difficulties with incorporating how to bring judging into The Living Battle, because that is the game for the judicial branch. I figured that the contestants could watch each other fight, and write a short report on how well the others did. They would then turn these papers in to the actual judges judging the game, who would judge their papers. Phew. Man, I hope that made sense what with all the judging and all!

And yeah, I’m still thinking about my character’s branches too. *also grabs snack and absentmindedly pops it into mouth while staring into to space in thought*

Uhhhh…. I think? I don’t know exactly.
And yeah! I get what you mean. That makes sense. I think that would work for the judicial branch, what about everyone else?
Another thought I had was to maybe have one of them compete in the place of a friend from another country, or their father could have them pretend to be from another country.
Yeah! I really like both of those ideas.
Yep, I only planned for/have two 🙂

September 2, 2020 at 8:48 pm #119039We could develop the indirect killing… or maybe someone had a debt, a really, really big debt to B, and the only way to get the money was to kill B’s brother. And some person who knew B’s brother wanted revenge so badly he would pay that exact sum, and so B’s brother was killed. And B knew about it and did nothing.

For my character art, it’s kind of half and half. I did the basic sketch on paper, and then took a picture of it and traced the lines with a digital brush, and then colored it in on a separate layer.
====
Yeah, three people become part of the slave thing.

That judge idea is great! I think it works well for what we need.

September 2, 2020 at 9:33 pm #119041Your welcome! 😀
And what are some of your favorite snacks? I like almonds, and Annie’s cheese bunnies (I know, I know…), a hard-boiled-egg-on-toast-with-pepper-and-red-pepper-flakes, these chocolate-chip-peanut-butter-energy-bars-by-Aloha…. etc., etc. 😛
Uhhhh…. I think? I don’t know exactly.
Yeah, that’s why I was busy doing my math aloud, LOL 😛
And yeah! I get what you mean. That makes sense.
It made sense! *fist-pump* Thanks!
Aha! That sounds like a great idea! (not that I should be rejoicing over the death of someone, though) Maybe we could change the death scene for Andor’s parents? Maybe they could be killed in their sleep, or something less dramatic? Idk, whatever y’all think is better. BTW, are we changing Andor’s name? I was just wondering, that’s all.
Ooo! That’s cool (your characters art)! I’ve never done digital art, maybe I should look into it. Is it fun? Is it easy to work with?
Yeah, three people become part of the slave thing.
Ok, good. Thanks 😉
That judge idea is great! I think it works well for what we need.
Yay! Thank you! *does happy dance*

@joelle-stone — her character Vika is a spy in my country, but she has fooled everybody to believe that she really is from my country, even tho she is not.Let’s just have 3 just in case. You know 😛
Your welcome!
You mentioned way earlier that Kix was going to find his father’s old Elite Unit stuff, and then join the EU. Is that still what you are doing?
Winter Rose, and Wing, Great work with all the Mr. B stuff. I totally am NOT tracking at all, so when you guys have everything worked out, Make sure to tag me 🙂
I am the one that is making the extra person, just because I wanted them to go to the slave thing. I guess we’ll have to work out which of our characters win and don’t win. We’ll see.
For the judges, you’re asking how to incorporate the judging into the game? Wouldn’t it just be like all the others? Your idea sounds cool tho, so that could just as easily be added to the Living Battle.
Hope I caught everything here 🙂

September 3, 2020 at 8:17 am #119045Something less dramatic could maybe be like some form of sniper assassination? That’s still kind of dramatic though…
I kind of think we should change it, but we’re all used to Andor by now! I feel like this name works for him, but I think it’d be best to look for something new. We could continue to use Andor as a placeholder for now.

Yeah, I really like digital art because it is pretty easy to fix mistakes, and you have so many options for brushes and colors. I sometimes struggle to get a smooth line at times, and that can be frustrating, but it might just be my stylus. I don’t think it likes me.
Okay, good. So does every country need to send three players?

September 3, 2020 at 11:10 am #119048So, everyone, I’m attempting to make a ‘map’ of all our planets and where they are. Could each of you give the name of your planets, countries, and the name of the players for each country? And also possibly the temperature and social position of the country, if you can. I have some information written down, but I’d just like to make sure I got it all right.
Right now I have three star systems that make up the reaches of the government. One is a supergiant red star (Prokdaul, it is a more war-like system), one is a yellow-white dwarf (Like our sun, Kallia, mostly high class and modern planets, the center of government is there) and the third is a blue-dwarf binary star system (Nentus-Shiah system, more low-class but still a few modern countries in the mix). Do any of you have a preference for which system you want your planets with?
Please let me know if there’s anything here you think we should change!

September 3, 2020 at 9:51 pm #119059No, they don’t have to. Like it’s not required, but you can send up to three.

September 3, 2020 at 10:05 pm #119060So, here’s the info you asked for. Thank you SOOOO much for doing this!!
My Planet: Rithuagua
The whole planet is one big land mass. There is no water on the surface of the planet at all. How do the inhabitants survive? The core of the planet is not hot material like earth. It is composed of water :).
My Country: Sinoraus
( @joelle-stone Her character, Vika, is from another country on my planet of Rithagua. But she’s a spy in my country, Sinoraus, so everyone thinks she’s from the country of Sinoraus.) (So, I don’t think that she has developed that country yet. I am not sure her plans for it.)
Characters:
Rikiar Thidrek and Aleyda Wilgefortis
They are both from the same country of Sinoraus
Social position:
VERY military oriented, making it probably a little higher up on the status
The below stuff is not in answer to your question, just another question of my own 😀
The government of the country Sinoraus is very corrupt. Somehow they have some sort of connection with one of the game builders (not a Judge, actual builder/planner), who also is corrupt. That game builder has agreed to pay Sinoraus’ government “big” money for game contestants, since in Sonoraus, the Cullings are not a highly respected thing. The game leaders really want Sinoraus’ contestants since Sinoraus is so military focused and they are good fighters. All this leads to the warrior camp in which Rikiar and Aleyda attend.
So, I had mentioned this WAAYYYY back when I was first planning my characters and country etc. and I was looking back, and wondering if we are still doing anything with this. What were your thoughts??

September 3, 2020 at 10:26 pm #119064name of your planet
My Planet: Ethrior. (pronounced Eth-RY-or)
country
.
My country: Adyura (pronounced Ad-YUR-uh)
name of the players for each country
Allor Hulls, and Wren Hulls.
social position
Wealthy. Many people there hold a position in the government, and almost everyone goes to really expensive collages.
temperature
Warm (not hot though) pretty much all year round, and summery. They have wonderful beaches people like to visit.
one is a yellow-white dwarf (Like our sun, Kallia, mostly high class and modern planets, the center of government is there)
.
I think that fits really well, so I think probably in that star system 😀
Hope I covered everything! 😀 Thank you, Winter Rose!
Nice! I really love your planet; I think that how they get their water from the core of their earth is SOO creative 🙂 And I don’t know what we would do with this information, but I do think it helps with the world building. But do you mean what would we do with it for the games? ‘Cause if so…. I have no idea XD

Thanks for the info!
===I think we should definitely do that. It works perfectly with your country, and we need that warrior camp for Vika to weasel her way into. There’s so much corruption and fraud surrounding theses games it seems, with Andor’s fake guise, Vika sneaking in, the losers being taken prisoner, and a few other things, that your idea would be right at home here.
@everyone
Oh yeah, speaking of fraud, a while ago I mentioned that maybe Andor controls the game programmer? The programmer will make each game that he can harder for some players and easier for a select few that Andor wants to win. Are we still using this?
Are we still having Andor use a player as his puppet? This was mentioned a while back, I just thought I’d see if we’re still doing it.
If we were, he’d use his influence over the programmer to cause the player to win in the end. Even after the player had the government Andor would still control them by blackmail, saying that if the player didn’t do what Andor wanted, Andor would tell the public that the player didn’t win fairly.

September 4, 2020 at 11:17 am #119072Hi guys! Sorry I haven’t been here; for some reason I stopped getting emails from here so had no idea that we weren’t in a dry spell! But I’m caught up now (I hope). 🙂
@mischievous-thwapling: Cool characters, planet, and new profile pic! So glad you’re joining…September 4, 2020 at 12:42 pm #119073Ok. Let’s see if I remember everything that I need to respond to:
- Yes, Vika is from Mel’s planet and is a spy for her country of Rushka. So whatever Mel says about her planet, that goes for Vika too. I’ll develop Rushka in another post. I was thinking that Vika would win the TOU branch, ’cause she’s already a spy and all. But another option is that her bosses told the judges of the Cullings that she is actually from a different country, so they took her along with Mel’s characters, knowing that there’s only two from one country and a spy from another? Or is it two per planet? *facepalm*
- I was thinking that Aleck would lose, thus making it easier for the others to win and so that we get an inside scoop on the slavery part of things. I’ll develop his country of Scotchlind and his planet of Tiras later.
- For “B”‘s backstory, I was thinking that maybe, even though he is Andor’s brother, maybe the reason behind Andor’s death is jealousy? I mean, jealousy can tear apart people with ease. Maybe Andor is older than B (maybe their parents did an ABC name gig, IDK), and maybe their family is high up in the social status? Maybe the oldest is heir to the throne or title or whatever? So maybe B wanted the throne or title or whatever, and so hired an assassin to get rid of Andor and their parents so that he could have the throne? But Andor got away (obviously) and continued on with his story. Maybe B was forced to run away and not accept the title/throne whatever otherwise he’d be found out? So Andor thinks he died? I know that was a LOT of question marks, but that’s my cliched idea. 🙂
- I think if Aleck does end up winning something, maybe he wins the judicial branch (assuming Wing’s character is winning diplomat, not judicial). But he doesn’t really fit anything, so…
- And I know there’s something else that I’m forgetting… ACH!! Ah, well, I shall figure that out later. 😀
Cool planning, everybody! We’re getting really complex.
September 4, 2020 at 12:45 pm #119074Reading that again, I feel like I’ll join Wingiby’s Blurter club. That made no sense whatsoever.
