“Yes, I am. Kami Seim.” The guy sounded imperious, and Riure stifled another laugh.

Someone took her hand and tried to lead her away. After hesitating, Riure submitted. Sadiq growled slightly and Riure grasped her scruff for reassurance – for her or her dog, she wasn’t sure.

“Yep, he’s a psychopath,” the person whispered. Male. High voice. Oh, that one! Riure remembered hearing him. She snorted quietly, trying to control her giggles. “I’m Ehud, by the way,” Ehud added.

“Riure, daughter of Hendry,” Riure replied. She patted Sadiq’s head. “This is my guide dog, Sadiq. Where do you come from, if you don’t mind me asking?”

“Ah, excellent question,” The younger one blurted “I have no idea!”

Gwendolen ‘s grip on the bow loosened slightly. Confusion clouded her mind.

“Are you the king?” A woman asked.                                “Yes, I am. Kami Seim.” Said the older one.

“Well if your the king” Gwendolen said “than you would know where I am.” She drew back her arrow and pointed it at Kami’s head.

They must have captured her. He must be working with the assassin advisors. Was this the Prince of Themscira? She didn’t think so. But right now she didn’t know what to think.

“Riure, daughter of Hendry,” the giggly girl replied “This is my guide dog, Sadiq. Where do you come from, if you don’t mind me asking?” She had a catchy laugh that fascinated him but he knew he wasn’t supposed to try and imitate somebody’s mannerisms in front of them and he was trying to control himself.
“I’m from Anakara, that’s one of the sky islands, where I live is the around the capitol but it’s super high security cos of the war,” he said, trying to pet Sadiq without getting bit. “In fact you gotta spend almost a month prepping before you can break–
erhm
”
Biting his lip Ehud turned crimson and swore he wouldn’t say another word again. He really shouldn’t have said anything, he just made another enemy in a matter of minutes. It was really rude of him, psychopath or not.
“Oh,” He bobbed forward to examine her face because she had foggy eyes. He couldn’t imagine losing any of his five senses, each bit made the world vivid and exciting. So he took both her hands carefully. “Can I show you around and describe everything for you?”

Ahh, my sincerest apologies for being completely absent.  I’m back now, though, and I’ve read all I missed. (Can I just say how much I love the interactions that are taking place??)

            @joelle-stone

Wow, I thought her simply looked cool, but now that I know how to say it, I love it even more!!

            @everyone

Okee dokee, meet my beloveds 😛

            Konyar (KONE-yar)

             Gender: Male

Dragon Form Appearance: His hide is dappled with the extremely dark forest-green, dark tawny colored splashes, and lustrous black patches. He has a gold-ringlet-pierced ear. His face is long  and narrow.

Eyes: one’s amber colored, the other green.

Human form: Sandy blonde hair; same eyes; lanky frame.

            Stance/posture in human form: Relaxed.

(There’s a reason for his bit of a wild look–but I won’t get into that
)

Rilyn (RIE-lin) (I’m still figuring out her name, so I might change it)

            Gender: Female

Dragon Form: light grey scales with a darker shade mottled throughout.

            Eyes: reddish-orangish-amberish.

Human form: unruly, messy, messy black hair; again, same eyes.

Stance/posture in human form: slouched and awkward, with her feet planted apart like she’s afraid there’s about to be an earthquake. (It’s cause she’s so unused to being in human form)

“I can’t believe I failed,” Rilyn groaned as she and Konyar stalked through the tunnel.

Konyar glanced at her. “Don’t worry.  The transforming test is probably the hardest one to pass.”

“But you passed without batting an eye,” she grumbled.

Konyar grinned.“Well, maybe I’m just exceptional at turning into a human. And I could tutor you if you want.. Give you a little help on the side.”

Rilyn feigned a hurt expression. “Are you saying I need extra help?”
Konyar opened his mouth before snapping it shut again.“Maybe?”

“Well, at least I’m a better-looking human,” Rilyn retorted.

“No, you are not.  I’m really good-looking, much more than you.  Both human and dragon form,” Konyar teased.

Rilyn began to respond, she never finished. Konyar felt icy wind roaring past his ears as he plummeted through pitch-blackness. He almost thought he could hear Rilyn yelling beside him, and he twisted around, reaching out for her. Abruptly, he landed with a thud on solid ground. Konyar pulled himself to his feet and paused, swiveling his head around, wrinkling his snout. “Where’re we?”

Rilyn opened her mouth to respond, but slowly looked around instead. They were enclosed by a lush forest, and it looked like a garden bloomed beyond the ring of trees.

Konyar met Rilyn’s wide-eyed gaze and noticed her ears flicking down. “Wait a moment,” Rilyn said suddenly. She shot into the air, dodged the trees, then disappeared behind their shaggy branches.

Konyar heard a loud, “Ow!” He grinned as she landed again, folding her wings and scowling.  “What’d you find?” he asked, still gazing about the forest.

“Pain,” she responded. “There’s some kinda shield up there. It’s clear, and I ran into it.”

Faint sounds drifted to them. Both of their ears pricked up as their eyes snapped in the direction it wafted from. When they approached the clearing’s edge, they halted and peered through the bushes. A group of fluffy-headed, twig shaped creatures yapped to each other inside. A new one with a dog appeared, and yet another human emerged from the trees on the other side with a bow.

Konyar squinted closer. “They’re kinda cute,” he noted. “What if they know the way out of…wherever we are?” he asked.

“Yeah, or maybe they trapped us here purposely,” Rilyn growled.

“Either way,” Konyar insisted, “I bet I could convince them to show us out
”

They debated the prospect in hushed tones for a few minutes. Konyar closed his eyes, ignoring Rilyn, and experienced a prickling sensation flooding his limbs before the tingling melted into stabs of pain.

Konyar peeled open an eye and looked down at his fleshy hands, flexing them.. He grinned at Rilyn, waved, and pushed through the bushes into the clearing. Heads turned to glance at him.

“Hey, huma–guys.” He cleared his throat. He had been about to ask where he and Rilyn were, but one of the humans had admitted they didn’t know where they were before Konyar stepped through.“We don’t mean any harm,” he said, glancing at the weapons several wielded. “We’re just trying to get back home. How’d we get here?”

“We?” one repeated.  “I only see one of you.”

Konyar glanced at the bushes. “Rilyn,” he called. “Please come out.”

A muffled no greeted him.  Konyar had no doubt that Rilyn was burying her snout under her wing. He laughed nervously. “One…one moment, please.”He hurried back into the bushes and tugged on her foreleg, cringing slightly at the weird sensation of fingers closing around scales.

Rilyn raised her head.  “Konyar,” she  hissed. “you know I just failed the test! I can’t turn into a human like you. At least not yet.”

“You have to,” he whispered back. “They might not trust us otherwise and think I’m lying! Plus, they’d be really freaked by a dragon.” He coached Rilyn through the process, and she melted into a human before his eyes.  She swayed, and Konyar grabbed her arm to steady her. Then they pushed through into the clearing.  Konyar gulped, prepared to talk his way out of any situation they’d just walked into.

“Hey huma–guys.” At the sound of the newcomers, Rosario turned and quirked an eyebrow when only one peeked out. He looked almost as nervous as Ehud when he has to talk to new people. “We don’t mean any harm. We’re just trying to get back home. How’d we get here?”
Rosario could hear somebody else behind him so she cocked her head at the bushes.
“We?” she shrugged her folded arms “I only see one of you.”
“Rilyn,” the guy whispered furtively “please come out.”
For a couple minutes there was a hushed argument which apparently the other person lost because she crept forward like someone dragged out of Hades, coal hair blowing over every direction of her face and stunning gold-red eyes. She had potential, with a little work she was pretty enough to catch some male eyes. Now was Rosario’s chance to melt back into the background so she did slipping toward the arrogant man who would need some softening. She smiled sweetly and dipped her head to him.
“I don’t mean to be too forward, senor, but you strike me a very powerful man.” She flipped her hair with her most practiced carelessness. Everyone needed to be on her side, every asset she can get is one less enemy. Of course he disgusts her but she’s kissed up to a lot of pigs before, she’ll do what it takes. Rosario caught him whispering to Ehud and that blind girl and Ehud seemed unnerved by whatever he said. So she need to gauge him and how to take him down.

                            “Hey look-er, um

um, well, two more people just appeared, a girl and boy. Man, I was hoping for a dragon.”
Riure laughed and Ehud reddened, grinning sheepishly. He didn’t know what to do with her. She was so cute and delicate and frail and currently the youngest member of their
whatever. Therefore, he would protect (spoil) her no matter what.
Ehud didn’t want to offend anybody. It was only a matter of time before he let her down and/or she realized just how incompetent he was. He shouldn’t have said anything to Kami, he felt so guilty even though he knew it was irrational.
“Do you want to go to them?” He was still holding her hands, ready to guide her through to anybody she wanted to talk to. He was gonna feel sick with guilt. Stupid roller-coaster emotions.

Riure couldn’t hold back a laugh. Ehud was pretty funny. She liked him. He reminded her of Kishna, in a way.

“Do you want to go to them?”

Riure shrugged, taking one hand from his and making sure Sadiq was still there – which, of course, she was. The dog seemed distracted though. Perhaps she was seeing something she didn’t like. For the thousandth time Riure wished she could actually see through her dog’s eyes. Ah, well, best make do with what she had. “Sure,” she replied lightly. “Although…” Something seemed off. All of her nerves were suddenly tensed. She cocked her head, listening. Oh. The boy’s tone of voice. He’d been scared, or nervous. Yep, definitely had to meet them now. “Nevermind. Race you?”

Aw thanks! He really is one of my sweeter characters I really enjoy writing him. I loved that with Konyar trying to convince Rilyn to come out, that was so funny!

Riure dropped a hand to check on her dog so Ehud immediately stopped trying to pet it.
                                  “Sure, although
” She tilted her head at him oddly for a second. “Nevermind. Race you?”
                                  “Uh
race?” Without a definitive sense of direction
He wasn’t quite sure how she’d
and anyway, it couldn’t be a fair race Ehud’s spend his whole life outrunning; gangs, angry people, government agents etc. Riure bent over and whispered something to her dog who jumped after the people barking.
                                  “What are you
?”
“Go!” She dashed after the sound of her dog giggling uncontrollably.
“Wha-hey!” He burst out laughing and chased her. The two new people weren’t far away and Riure skidded to a stop ahead of him in seconds. Ehud knocked into the new guy with the mismatched eyes who jerked back awkwardly. Still laughing despite his best efforts, Ehud tumbled backwards and grinned sheepishly before enthusiastically throwing the blind girl’s hands in the air.
“You won! Heh, you’re pretty fast, erhm
sorry?” Ehud glanced up at the person he bowled over and tried unsuccessfully to stifle his laughter. It was pretty much impossible because Riure was still laughing and her laughter tickled.
“This is, this is Riure,” he jostled her shoulder playfully “and I’m Ehud!”
