    Rhianna

The stairway felt interminably long, but Rhianna was determined not to stop. Being a Loki meant that she did not tire quickly. Still, her legs had begun to ache by the time she reached a landing and a door. Heart pounding with anticipation, Rhianna flung open the door and found herself blinking in bright sunlight. As her vision adjusted, she looked out on the familiar rooftop of the castle back in Firneth.

“Come on,” she complained aloud. “The dream was just getting interesting.” The tang of smoke hit her then, and she stepped up to the parapet, her brow furrowed in confusion. What she saw caused her to stop in her tracks.

Gone was the verdant farmland and the colorful city. The mountains in the distance were obscured by the smoke rising from a wasteland that stretched as far as the eye could see. All was silence, there was neither bird nor beast nor even wind to break the awful stillness.

“What happened?” She breathed, feeling Eagle’s presence at her side.

“The Nim,” Eagle replied, his voice gruff and familiar as always.

“Then this is my fault,” Rhianna said.

“You did wake the Nim,” Eagle admitted. “Yes, I suppose it is.”

There was a brief pause as the two watched the burning landscape.

“Where were the Dragons?” Rhianna demanded. “Why didn’t they stop this? Why don’t they fix it?”

Eagle shrugged. “There was nothing they could do. Destruction caused by an Otherworldly Being is not easily dealt with.”

“How can you be so calm?” Rhianna whirled on the older man. “Our world is dying!”

Eagle’s eyes were fiery blue in his wrinkled face. “There is nothing that can be done. What will be, will be.”

“I will fix it,” Rhianna promised. “I will make things right.”

The old man’s eyes seemed to swallow her whole, and his voice echoed in her ears. “No, Rhianna. Even you cannot fix this.”

The world spun around her, and Rhianna was standing once more in the shadows on the landing, staring at the door. Waiting for her heart to stop its wild racing, she read the plaque the door now bore.

    CASTLE’S ROOM.

Tentatively, Rhianna reached out and tried the handle.

    Denari

“Hi, I’m Ari,” Denari said shyly. “What are your names?”

“Cahira,” one snapped. “We already met.”

Ari was about to die of mortification when the pink haired woman came to his rescue.

“Mara Gobey-Hanad.” She stuck out a hand. Ari gingerly shook her fingertips and she laughed.

Just then Rhianna burst in, her face pink with excitement. “I found it!” she shouted.

“How’d you get back so fast?” Mara demanded, seemingly not at all pleased to see the Loki.

    “Found what?” Cahira asked skeptically.

“Not right now,” Mara added. “I don’t think the fashion show is over yet.”

“I found a room that Lord Castle doesn’t control!” Rhianna exclaimed. “The key to our rebellion! The answers to our very existence!”

That top bit was Rhianna’s worst fear, by the way. The end of the world and it’s all her fault . . .

I know you two wanted to do the fashion show, right? Though I think Grace’s account wasn’t working.

Here’s his thing from my blog 🙂

    Yarrow
    Age: 16
Appearance: Shoulder length, blonde hair, brown eyes, 5’ 10”
Yarrow may be an archer under Elvin, but Yarrow knows he could win against Elvin in a second. With the bow, anyway. But shall he win in something else?
    We shall see…

Yarrow is the comedic relief character who makes me cry. He’s afraid of spiders and bugs, loves a good joke — or prank as the case may be — yet he has a tender heart.

Hi! I’d like to kinda just hop in here. My character I’ve already posted about before but not here. Shall I repost this while changing some stuff?…yeah since Igua is the only one actually talking to me right now (Something about shattering one characters’ finally perfect life, making another blind, and the rest are just refusing me to put on my character cloak. Anyways, here in Igua Cloak…

Name: Igua Dyke Cloak. (Note: Cloaks never share their true last names except with each other, part of tradition. He also rarely shares his middle name.) masculine
    World: Wond.
    Type/breed/kind/whatever-you-want-to-call-it: Man
Profile: green eyes, shaggy brown hair, one side of face and neck has burn scars. 5’3″ Rash air.
Culture/people: Realn, a warrior people who believe pacifism to be a weakness. They live on these small islands called the Realn Isles which contain veins of the most precious metals of Wond leading to many invasion attempts from other countries. They follow an emperor/empress but most of all follow a spiritual being they call Ehyeh (actually Hebrew for I AM so you know who that is.)
Clan of the Realn: the Cloaks, spies on the Mainland.
Character Traits: Rash, irresponsible, (note: at the beginning of the story) somewhat crazy with ideas, doesn’t like butter knives, when he speaks in Trade Tongue (which happens to be the most common-spoken language of the Mainland.) he often speaks with an accent (not a Realn accent, he has never seen the Realn Isles) and uses a lot of slang. At the end he basically transforms (with a lot of help from his “horse”) he basically becomes responsible, and the opposite as before if you omit the butter knife thing and the accent and slang though he uses it less often because of the pleadings of his Cloak Circle. A boy to a man story.
Notes: I have a lot of fantasy characters even though it is not the genre I am the most into right now. Igua seems to right now trump them all in my favor since I added some bits of sci-fi elements. Skullcrusher, Igua’s “horse”, is a type of metal-like alien that can morph himself into different forms and he has a lot of tech from his own culture. He is called a Metamorph by Igua. During the story, to keep his existence and tech secret, he disguises himself as a black and red horse which Igua rides. Skullcrusher does not mind butter knives.
I am thinking how to start this story since I think that starting with Igua meeting Skullcrusher and learning each other’s languages would be a little flimsy and boring a start but where else shall I start?
    Genre: fantasy, sci-fi

Piece of slang: “The effe (Ef-ee) woul’ be dest.” Translation: The effect would be devastating.

    Welcome back!

    @rae

The worldbuilding you’ve done is quite interesting, especially concerning the shapeshifting metal aliens. You’re welcome to drop Igua Cloak (I keep wanting to add “na” to the end of his first name) into the fashion show. 🙂

That would do it! Are y’all moving, like, across the country, or are you staying in the area? Are you excited about it? I hope that goes smoothly for you!

    @rae

Welcome to the character castle! Igua must now either give up his most prized possession or take part in the fashion show. After which, Rhianna is trying to run a rebellion that he may or may not like to join. Have fun!

Okay, this sounds so weird and I should know this, but exactly HOW does this fashion show thing go?

Basically, Lord Castle booms the ultimatum (give up your most prized possession or participate in the fashion show) so that Igua has a vague idea of what’s going on. Assuming he participates, you need to come up with something hilarious for him to wear. He must then go down the catwalk (whether he does that willingly or under Lord Castle’s magical influence is entirely up to you). Tada!! Have fun! Also, don’t feel like you have to do exactly what I’ve written. Mix and match, if you like. Or come up with something entirely new. Anything goes! I would love to see Igua in something absurd though.

Clown? Court Jester? Some other kind of tradesmen that Igua regards as utterly useless? Merman? Bear? 🙃🤷‍♀️

Problem is, I don’t want to go too crazy because I feel all of Igua’s emotions when I put on his Character Cloak and I always put it on when i write. I don’t like wearing wacky clothes (anymore, I was the kid wearing striped shirt with polka-dot pants and purple zebra socks. Mom wouldn’t allow me to go out in public wearing it but around the house, I was a rainbow with a few extra colors) and  don’t like being embarrassed. But I guess for the sake of the story I gotta do it, I like he jester idea.
