Oh, and @millennium I don’t think Kami will be able to get anything by Eltar for sure(diplomat and he can tell if you’re lying) and Wen maybe(she is very, very, very suspicious of most people, though at this point she’s begun to relax around all people, particularly her family)

Guys, I might be manuevering things to remove Wen and Eltar, as it’s NaNoWriMo, and put in my NaNo charries.

MY BROTHER’S BACK MY BROTHER’S BACK MY BROTHER’S BACK!!!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you guys!
Ok, update

Eltar was saying something about magic being energy and Wen having more magic than him. Ehud was a little indignant because no matter how much energy he had he couldn’t do magic and that didn’t seem fair or even democratic. Abruptly, Ehud jumped when something cold tickled at his feet.
“Oh look, there’s food!” He grabbed the fish and unceremoniously stuffed his mouth before looking up guiltily, partially aware Eltar had been talking to him. “Oh
magic bloodline thingy
”
He hoped he hadn’t offended the elf, who merely smiled and continued politely. Although if comic books and novels and movies are to be believed you can never quite tell what an elf is thinking. And Ehud had enough trouble figuring out his own thoughts.
“And Wen. No matter how abrasive she seems, she does care. She only is rough and harsh to frighten people off and make herself seem stronger.” That seemed to be the modus operandi of everybody here. “Magic is tricky and involves focus. If all of you attacked us at once, Wen and I wouldn’t be able to defeat you..”
That information Ehud filed away, just in case. Although, coordinating this lot would be as easy as rounding chickens. He wasn’t entirely sure why Eltar would give him that much power. Information is worth a lot (especially in blackmarkets, in fact
that didn’t have anything to do with his situation). But Rosario would never have told anyone two words about her life, not even her favorite color (which was red, Ehud only barely pried that out of her). It seemed to him the more someone’s been through the more they want to keep private information.
Mr Elf’s voice was pretty steady and that had a sort of relaxing pattern of inflections and tones. Finishing his fish, Ehud poked the lettuce a little but he wasn’t that desperate yet. He rubbed his eyes and sank somewhat really really wishing Eltar would tell him whatever he was telling him when he was awake because he really wanted to listen. It would be fun to pretend to be an herbivore like a giraffe, maybe he’ll eat the greens later. Eltar’s tone changed a bit and he spoke rather deliberately.
“…distrusts and hates all halfen, and captured Wen despite Queen Enunne’s attempt. Wen was tortured from the age of two to when I helped her escape at twelve. I taught her to warp–the very act that killed her mother by the fact that she didn’t have enough energy to unnaturally warp her two young children across the country to their home. Wen, however, naturally picked it up, and warped a great distance to where her fiancĂ©, a human former assassin by the name of Aernus, found her.” Ehud suddenly realized he nearly dropped his head on the elf and dozed off. Jerking upright he snatched at whatever Eltar was saying and tried to process the words. He was so caught on that he missed most of what he said after that. Something about the elf being in love with a princess and a relative who tried to kill him. But Wen was

“What!” he squeaked “Did what!?!” Eltars account of Wen’s capture and subsequent torture had finally registered. Nearly jolting to his feet, Ehud glanced around as if half-expecting the tyrant king to be somewhere about (which actually wouldn’t be too much of a stretch considering everything that’s happened). It wasn’t fair, it wasn’t right, he was trying to convince himself it wasn’t possible that someone had the power to do something about it but at every angle there was always a realistic consequence that couldn’t be fixed. Something that had already happened couldn’t be prevented but the injustice–
Jumping up, Ehud raked a hand through his hair and almost stumbled on Brin so he dropped back to his knees, flushing with pent up emotion.
“That’s not fair-! He can’t-there has to be som-” He yawned midword which made him so angry he burst into tears. Which made him even more angry because he couldn’t push himself any farther and exhaustion made it impossible for him to get any control over his emotions. “There’s gotta be something we can do!”
He knew at this point nobody could take him seriously and he fumed at his body for tearing up. And he couldn’t stop yawning and there wasn’t any physical activity he could do while his emotions settled down. All he could think to do was try and focus on his breathing to calm himself down which was what Rosario had taught him to do.

We(way, I’m weird and came up with a whole language where every word’s a syllable)

Oh yeah! It sounds a little reminiscent of Chinese and Japanese dialects (way more organized than my fantasy dialects, although I do freak over the different accents of each race and old English terms and odd words and
never mind XD).

I’m considering killing Ehud and introducing Rosario at some point soon but I kinda wanna see how he handles a fight first.
Maybe we can the Character Castle a bit of jumpstart by entering the perspective of the castle. I’m just gonna write something but if it’s not interesting I can very easily take it down and I swear I wouldn’t mind a bit 🙂

It could feel another mind reaching out toward it. A powerful being in her own world but just a puny little figment here. Still had a thin thread of silken fear masked in anger around her mind both at herself, some others and “the world”. A constant thread, something that remained from her childhood.
They were all imprints stamped into its walls, them and all the others that were lost inside. One, Teagan, was the first death inside. But that was a different chapter and page and subheading. The spell-caster, Wen, was the first one to even try to contact him in a very delicate link she intended to break the moment anything got out of hand. Nobody ever tried to talk to it, it was just the setting, wasn’t it. It was rather amusing to think of.
You want me to just let you out, don’t you?
Do you know who I am? I’m the first one to ever be forgotten.
I’m the setting.

[sorry i couldn’t resistXD]

Ok, so it took me long enough 😛

I just wanted to say I miss doing this with y’all, and I think I might try to carve out a little time for it. But my life has been a bit wild lately. Anyhow, you guys probably guessed it, but Ahab’s out of the story. Thanks so much, because doing his part here really helped me figure stuff out. However…. I’m starting a whole new fantasy. I know. I’m always starting new things; but maybe I’ll introduce a new character, if time gets back on my side….. Anyhow, keep up your awesome writing! 😀

Kami adjusted his sleeve cuff, checked out his perfect grin in the window reflection, and strode into his conference room.

Several men sat inside the room which was positioned multiple stories high in a skyscraper that overlooked a grand city.

“Gentlemen.” Kami greeted.

They murmured their reply salutations as he took a seat.

“I trust you are all well?” He continued, studying the holoscreen before him.

Their heads bobbed with nods.

Kami deactivated his screen and met their gaze. “Wonderful.” He deployed his pearly white smile.

He opened his mouth to speak again but closed it. A commotion could be heard from the other side of the door, disturbing them.

Kami’s brow furrowed as he stood and moved to open the door but it slid open before he could reach it and half a dozen people poured in.

“Happy birthday!” They all cheered as they rushed in.

“My birthday is in three days.” Kami retorted, trying to see who was invading. “Erin!”

He was suddenly bumped and fought to maintain his balance by grabbing at air but failed and resulted in striking his head on the corner of the table.

Blackness filled his vision.

~~~
Colors swirled on the inside of his eyelids as Kami felt his consciousness returning. Voices drifted from afar but there was a close one.
Very close.
Twas inside his head.
Greetings. My walls now hold you and taunt you. You will not escape and you will not remember my voice once you awake.
I am the setting. Welcome.
Kami woke but kept his eyes closed. He could feel individuals near him but wasn’t prepared to face them. Not yet.
Opening his eyes he looked around but stayed lying. Trees swayed above him and the sky above them.
Drawing himself up, Kami saw movement several meters away from where he lay in some undergrowth.
He rose and checked his appearance in a nearby puddle, brushing his hair to look stylish again, and rubbing a smudge of dirt off his cheek.
Getting up off his knees, he approached the people gathered. They turned to study him and he met them with a charming grin.
