This week’s post is about How to know if you’re called to be a writer written by Daeus
Hey guys, this is a short post teasing a pretty big project Story Embers will be launching soon. I’ve condensed this lesson from part of that project.
Does God have plans for each one of us? Of course he does. He has “good works prepared” for us to do.
Confusion often arises over calling though because we don’t know how to determine God’s will for us. While there’s no problem with wanting God to make it extra clear how you should live your life, you don’t need to literally hear a voice or anything.
In Deuteronomy 19:29 it says.
“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
Some things God keeps hidden, but those things he does reveal (particularly in his word) are all that’s necessary for good living.
One thing God does tell us, according to Proverbs 16:3 is:
Commit your works to the Lord,
and your plans will be established.
This is a theme we find all over scripture. As we draw closer to God, he draws close to us. Our will starts to align with his will. God says that when we abide in him we’ll be able to ask for things in faith and receive them–which can only happen if our wills align with his. If you want to know God’s will, just draw close to God. Then, if you want to write, just write and He’ll guide your way.
