Hey, so I’m ‘new’ here. I was on the forum a long time ago and am just now getting back on… So I decided to join the poetry forum group and… here’s an offering for y’all. I wrote this free verse called ‘Humanity’. It’s really short and simple; any critiques and suggestions for improvement would be appreciated! Thanks y’all! Just gonna tag…[Read more]

Thanks for sharing the beginning of your story, Gracie! You’ve certainly got a dramatic opening and a lot of vivid, in the moment description. Well done. The one thing I’d watch for is to be sure you stay in Chena’s POV throughout the scene. That doesn’t mean you have to keep it for the entire story, or even the entire chapter, but the current…[Read more]

Thank you.
I can just imagine Eitan, (the one reading it for historical accuracy), giving me a knowing look, /Haven’t heard //that// before, have you?/ Ahh well, need to work on that…
I emailed you…though my email was having trouble a few weeks ago. I’d like to check to make sure it went through? I’d love to read your next chapter!

It is very good. Though in the desert, and feeling alone, you choose to have faith that God is near. That there will be an end to the struggle. That God has you, and will not let the dry times be wasted.
Thank you for sharing!!!

A poem I’d written today while an uneasy time I had… Do you also pray through poetry sometimes?
Anyway – The translation doesn’t contain much of the artistic beauty of the original (rhyme, meter, and – suddenly, when needed, English decided to not have enough words), but I think I should share it anyway. I hope it’ll help someone(s) there…[Read more]

Good job! You excellently ”prepare a way” for the surprising arrival of the actual Messiah
You portray characters very well.
Thanks!
It’s way more likely that the teacher will be an older, charismatic man, who enraptures young, hot blooded people like Ruben.
I have an idea of how I can fix that. Thanks! (:

*nods* A good thing to think about, and a good thing to do. I’ve known two women in particular who I wouldn’t hesitate to call godly. My mother, and my granny who passed away recently. If everyone in the world patterned their lives after mama’s and granny’s, the world would be a much better place.
Tag me if you end up writing and…[Read more]

You know, @anne_the_noob14, yesterday I listened a sermon on Proverbs 31. The pastor said that trought that poem God himself was praising godly women. So we his children could/should imitate him on doing that. I think it’s something you did here (and, I belive, I may try too).

Hmm… A 16 years old boy teaching the crowds? It’s way more likely that the teacher will be an older, charismatic man, who enraptures young, hot blooded people like Ruben.

Great poem, Livi! I feel like it can be easy to ignore the challenges and integrity in other people’s lives and I think it’s really cool when people use a form of art (like poetry) to highlight the heroism in others.
