@ashira A couplet: two lines of verse, usually in the same meter and joined by rhyme, that form a unit. These are great for small things, those with interest and inspiration for future things, yes?

@judylynn Those are some of my favourite songs, too! I play the guitar for my church so I really get to listen to the words of the songs. It’s especially great when the last song kinda follows the sermon, right?

Good morning, @judylynn! Welcome to this resting place of intense degrees! We are honoured to have you as another member of SE!
Sounds interesting! (I guess exclamation marks aren’t necessary but may, in the general use, be located as inviting?!!!)

@olivia Cool, I didn’t know that.
Yeah, my signature is in a language of mine called Lathraen (an extinct language, at that) and it is part of my world now called Uredan, or great blackness. That is a quote from an elve called Uondon – obviously – and it means this: The winds of all who wander this world are conflicted.
@selah-chelyah Yes, well,…[Read more]

@tashah-claymore I’ll say I love eggnog in large doses, but then I feel all clogged up and just take it in tiny dollops from the excess of spoons that my family has labelled our ice-cream spoons for their long handles and small scoops (don’t ask me why). Anyway, my whole family loves eggnog and I wish it was a year-round thing.
Yeah, my sister…[Read more]

This was a great poem and I shall try not to be too cliche in my comment. (True, it was a while ago, but I’ve just read it.)
I must say, this was done with great imagery in the physical sense wherewith you took the feelings and emotions and turned them into descriptively physical pain. Very well. I think the idea for your mask poems is great…[Read more]

Here’s the last one:

This is the archipelago and the second one was the main landmass.
There’re some more islands near the bottom, but I couldn’t seem to catch them in the photos.

@tashah-claymore A new convert!!! Do you like eggnog?
I like the way that Irish music bounces and twangs along, know what I mean? If you like the story of a vet in the British Isles then you’ll like ACGS. Plus, it’s hilarious. Especially with all the farmer’s accents and the things people do to each other.
The Sherlock Holmes movies that I’d…[Read more]

@katy-walker I think that backstory is definitely important in relation unto the story being a part of a history. That’s generally the way I think about my stories as well. It’s a piece of the chimings of time. Plus, if you put work into it and build up the history – especially with fantasy – you can reference certain places as if they are known…[Read more]

It is indeed an off encounter to be tagged within the updates of another one’s mind, @i-david. You write fantasy…do you have a world? Do you construct languages?

@anne_the_noob14 I chose Holmes because of how it sounded in comparison with my personality. I may go by William Holmes or W.O.Holmes but probably not Oliver Holmes (probably). American Literature and Greek and Latin roots? Interesting, very. How about the system of Teltharic dealing with how the sounds, position around the clarox, what the clarox…[Read more]

@tashah-claymore your welcome! I was sitting here writing and reading stuff on SE and he walks up to me and tells me that someone named Tashah subscribed to his newsletter. What do ya know!
I listen to TobyMac practically every time I listen to music, and most of his stuff is great. I like rock when I’m not writing poetry, but not a lot at that.…[Read more]

W.O.Holmes replied to the topic Would Your Character Rather. . . in the forum Characters 7 years, 1 month ago
Morning! in the afternoon @emberynus-the-dragonslayer. Truth be told, ’tis all this to be done.
Would your character rather wield the Sword of Eternal Flame, or be given the powers of the blue lightning?
Thulduorin: I would rather be granted the lasting sword, for there shall I find victory.
Athlanntier: Durst I chose the both of…[Read more]
