The Fledgling Artist

@the-fledgling-artist You carved your own stamp??? 😮 😮 😮 😮

Yeah, no I don’t do that. xD

@the-fledgling-artist

Thank you!

I have enjoyed drawing ever since I was a little kid…when I was doodling in my school books and defacing pictures of presidents with beards and nose rings. 😜 (I was a bad kid.)

I am not very good at all, have absolutely no style, and I cannot proportion stuff right to save my life. So if you would like to…[Read more]

@the-fledgling-artist Neat! I thought you might make cards that way, and no wonder I’m faster. I use stamps and embossing tools to make mine which look good, but take no time at all. 🙂

@the-fledgling-artist Last Saturday, as in the 17th, but it only took me the morning and half the afternoon. What kind of Christmas cards do you make and with what mediums?

@the-fledgling-artist Yeah it is really a weird platform and as far as I know practically all artists are struggling with it.

Thanks for all your feedback, guys! 😀 This is how it’s going to work:

I will set up two boards dedicated to writing. The first will be for writing tips, posts, articles, etc. so we can compile cool articles and promote each other.

The second will be dedicated to story inspiration. 😀 I think we will center it around character inspiration, scene…[Read more]

@the-fledgling-artist Unfortunately I don’t, I have not touched embroidery in ages! That was my first and only finished project.  I started another towel right after I finished that one but the towel was a very bad material and the threads of the towel started separating when I embroidered it, so I gave up and never started another one, even…[Read more]

Here is my favorite one so far:

Ooh! Me! I do!

🙂

I love card-making and have already made twelve Christmas cards for this year.

I do show my work, and, yeah, I really used to hate showing it because I never knew what to say when someone told me it was really good.  Now I say thanks and move on, or if they put themselves down (“I could never draw like that” etc.)  I tell them that it just takes a lot of practice.  I have neve…[Read more]

Hello to all you very talented people! I hope I am not intruding.

My main interest is writing, but I enjoy drawing as well, even though I am not very good.

Here’s some of my artwork:

I’m gonna tag @chalice and @the-fledgling-artist cause I know them. 😁

Oh and @lillian-parks03. I love the most recent picture…[Read more]

@kari-karst: “Does that mean the sword/bow drawing s done?” *blinks* hehe, oh ya… *instead of responding to everyone goes and sits down to draw. Spends at least an hour trying to draw this really cool battle scene he can see in his head. Utterly fails. Remembers why he’s not an artist and just sketches the blade* O well, not as cool as I imagi…[Read more]

@the-fledgling-artist From what I have learned, use hashtags so more people might be able to find you, and interact with other artists (especially if they have around the same size following) I watched a few Youtube videos but the IG “algorithm” to gain more people to find you is really difficult.

Just try to be consistent in posting and just…[Read more]

@the-fledgling-artist, advice for using Instagram? Hmm… the first thing I thought of is set yourself some sort of time boundary, for example: only getting on Instagram for fifteen minutes or half an hour each day (Or something like that), because it can be easy to get “sucked in” and spend hours on there. (*Sigh* Yeah, I know from…[Read more]

Oh, awesome thanks so much! Time doesn’t really matter I can wait. And no, not particularly. Margret is the one telling to story and Andre is the one the story is mostly about so you can take your pick!

@the-fledgling-artist  Yeah, I’ve been spending most of my time on a different forum, and I don’t come here as much as I should. My activity here should start to pick up a little though. We’ll see.   😛
