That sounds really interesting! I was writing a series of fairytales at one point and I can easily import one of those characters. Probably either Prince Xavier (Cinderella’s Charming) or Princess Genevieve (the girl from the Snow Queen). Both of them are pretty well capable of taking care of themselves, Xavier a bit moreso si…[Read more]

If the rotation was one kingdom a semester then you could cycle through in only 3 years. -

@emma-walker
Hi Emma!I’d love to do something like this with you. Do you have a specific setting/time period in mind? Any rules for me to follow?
What characters did you have in mind? If you give me an idea of what you want this story to be like I’ll see if one of my characters will fit in well.

I have several that I’m in the process of working on and developing. In Ironstorm up where Brendin is from they celebrate Yule but it’s a mishmash of various traditions due to the mixed population there (a combination of Northmen/Nors (Norse), Arians (Roman/European), Keltaics (Celtic and Gaelic), and Eya (Indian/Middle…[Read more]

I’ve seen a fair bit of your characters in the character castle, but I haven’t really seen anything of your worlds. Do you have any holidays?

Rowan glanced between the man and the warrior woman wielding a battle axe, then did the only thing she could.
Retreat.
Swiftly a wall of young rowans rose from the wooden floor in front of her as she dashed away towards a door behind the yew throne. It opened with a well-placed kick to a dark room. She didn’t have time to investigate, so she s…[Read more]

While the others conversed in muted tones Brendin had wearily sat down against the wall, appreciating the cool touch of the stone. He hadn’t felt cold in a long time. It was cold at Ironstorm, where he’d lived before everything had happened, and he missed it. Quietly he observed the lengthy exchange between Alessio and Nithel and was once ag…[Read more]

“The book that we have seen shows that there is possible another person in here with us. Unless he should appear, we must assume that he will die.”
“But…”
“There are hostiles in this castle with us. At least one person has been killed by the castle’s forces. This other peson is not here and is behind enemy lines. For our own good, we must hope…[Read more]

Brendin considered mentioning that he had once led the Maeres alongside Cyn, but thought better of it and bit his tongue. Instead he thought about his role at Ironstorm, but that probably wasn’t worth mentioning either. After all, he didn’t actually remember those experiences, or at least not clearly; he only knew of it because it was written d…[Read more]

He’s been pretty messed up, but at heart Brendin is a pretty friendly guy and tends to act like an older brother to everyone. And he can (try to) help Alessio with fire magic.
On the shipping subject though, Brendin does have a person he’s in love with…but because of the damage to his soul he has no idea she even exists or…[Read more]

“Do…In your world do people usually have…powers or are accepted with their powers?”
Brendin set the book down on the table and unbuttoned the cuff of his jacket sleeve. “Yes,” he said, raising the sleeve to show a black marking on the inside of his forearm. Several burn scars were also visible around it. “Synes are pretty common.”…[Read more]

“It’s nobody’s business,” he said staring at each one of them individually. “Whoever you are we’re all stuck together now and if we start prying into the other’s secrets we’ll tear each other apart. Then we’ll all die, understand?”
Brendin snatched the book from the boy, flipping quickly back to the page with his name across it. He thought he’…[Read more]

If you want to get a better idea of Brendin’s character here’s some songs to listen to (in order of character development 😁 ):
Monster by Beth Crowley
No One Will Save You by Aviators
Battle Cry by Beth Crowley
Stronger by The Score
At the moment Brendin is currently around Battle Cry.

For those who are curious about my latest post, becoming ‘fey’ means having your soul damaged to the point you become a fetch, or a hollow soul that does not pass on after death. Damage to the soul can cause pain, memory loss, change in personality, illness, instability when practicing magic, alterations to your physical appearance, impediments…[Read more]

Vulferym seemed mildly stunned by Brendin’s feral gaze and the hard edge in his voice. Finally he said: “I have already introduced myself, or did you not hear?”
Brendin realized he’d be wasting time with the man and turned away towards where many of the others were clustered around a book.
“It’s a record. Dharin and Lytt were here until an hour…[Read more]

Thanks. I’m very interested in anthropology so I try to throw in as many real-life elements as I can in the guise of ‘traditions’. Most are based on things I happen to like or be particularly interested in. For example, some of the popular holiday games my characters play are mancala and coillcliste (fidchell).
