…hi.
So I have two WIPs, currently (suicide, I know). One is a modern fantasy world where there is an organization that hunts down mythical beasts, and the story focuses on a particular team of this organization. There isn’t much of a main character in that story (there rarely is a main c…[Read more]

To my own personal knowledge of myself, I’m not aware that I do this. Unless doing a more favorable activity instead of homework in order to destress before getting into homework counts?
My characters, on the other hand, do this with relative frequency. I could go into detail with several of them but for now I’ll try to briefly explain a f…[Read more]

As Virtus and Isaac vanished only Nithel, Alessio, Vulferym and Brendin. And now an abyssal void was swallowing up part of the room. Brendin began looking amongst the shelves of the wall opposite the void and after a few minutes he found a shelf that gave way, revealing a narrow torch-lit passage. Brendin called to the others; “There’s a way ou…[Read more]

Salvete! Linguam Latinam disco, et non mortuam est.
That probably wasn’t correct, but I’m only a Latin 4, so to be expected I guess.

Brendin mostly ignored the others as he sifted through the various food items within the room, collecting a large sack of canned vegetable and fruit preserves that seemed to be in an edible constitution. He did listen to the conversations but he did not participate or acknowledge them. That is, until he heard Alessio.
“And I managed to get th…[Read more]

Also might mandrake root have been used as an anesthetic? You’d mentioned something like that earlier, I think.

So how would a medieval skin graft work out? I ask because previously Brendin had been burned badly enough to need one and a very well trained University surgeon was on hand to treat him.

Brendin’s been through a heck of a lot. In the character castle I outright mentioned his soul’s been damaged.

@anne-the-noob14
Don’t worry, this isn’t the worst Brendin’s been through (nor is it the first time he’s been set on fire).

Thank you so much for your response!It’s funny that you mention this would be more likely survivable if he didn’t feel pain, because I forgot to mention Brendin doesn’t feel pain (or rather he has a greatly diminished capacity to feel pain) as an after effect of a nasty illness he had in his…[Read more]

How could someone in medieval-y times treat several large (1st or 2nd degree) burns across most of their body alone out in the wilderness? Also would cauterizing be better than leaving open wounds out in the wilderness?

How about (since this is fairytale-ish) they make the mistake of wandering through a normal forest that leads into a magical one? I’m thinking like Narnia a bit but starting in a forest to begin with. Xavier was likely out hunting, what would Rhene be up to? -

Well, what do you want to do with the story?

@emma-walker
Possibly Xavier. He’s got a messed up shoulder from his time on the battlefront so it might be something they can sorta bond over. He’s also generally one to judge a person based on their merits over anything else, so he won’t think poorly of Rhene for her disability. And finally Xavier is a bit more fleshed out than Genevieve, so…[Read more] - Load More
