Brendin mostly ignored the others as he sifted through the various food items within the room, collecting a large sack of canned vegetable and fruit preserves that seemed to be in an edible constitution.  He did listen to the conversations but he did not participate or acknowledge them. That is, until he heard Alessio.

“And I managed to get that out in just two sentences, sir.”

Brendin nearly choked and ended up coughing, trying to disguise his strangled laughter as an irritation in his throat.
