Hi! I have seen a good amount of artists use Artstation as a great place to showcase your work. They then often share it out there through Pinterest and Instagram. I would say Instagram would be the best social media place to do it. I would love to see your work. I have noticed a huge surge in need for graphic artists for dnd art…[Read more]

Nice to meet you! Thank you for the welcome 🙂
When I started drawing, I mostly did anime/manga art. As I’ve practiced my art has slowly inched to a more “semi realistic” style, but there’s definitely still some manga influence in there. I use pencil and pen a lot too, as well as colored pencils and alcohol-based markers.
I…

Hi Zee! welcome!
I am @scoutfinch190, I too write and draw and am currently learning digital art on Krita. Having drawn traditionally all my life, this is a big learning curve though lol, but I’m getting the hang of it, vector stuff is a big struggle though🤣 (vector means it’s not made of pixels, so you can zoom in infinitely w/o…[Read more]

Hey Scoutfinch!
This is a pretty familiar question to me, I’ve been there XD
So, I currently use an Intuos pressure-sensitive tablet without screen display. I’ve used a Wacom Bamboo in the past and it also worked great, it’s just smaller.
I was saving up for a big display tablet, but I ended up not getting one. My dad got a…[Read more]

Hi! I am not a professional artist but I have been doodling with both the Intuos Pro and Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 in. They are both very good options but things to consider is that the Intuos pro requires major hand and eye coordination which many like myself struggle through it and takes a long time to master. I honestly don’t that…[Read more]

Well, after trying six times to post a reply, I figured out that it just doesn’t like me putting links in here. So let’s try again xD
For electrocution, I went to the BRCA (Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America) website. Under “community resources” and “safety”, they have a page with a lot of info about electrocution.

@scoutfinch190 I can’t guarantee anything I recc will be clean, but as I’ve been stuck in the Webtoon hole for years, I think I should have some good ones up my sleeve. If you want ones without LGBT stuff then generally look for Korean ones, not international ones, cuz, well, you know. Anyways.

If you like superheroes, the Daredevil comic series by Mark Waid is clean! Vol. 2 gets a little weird for a bit (supernatural-style weird), but overall it’s really good! I also really liked The Defenders: Diamonds are Forever (which censors cussing).
To piggyback on @rose-colored-fancy‘s recommendation, Scott McCloud’s book…[Read more]

Hellooo!!
So, I’m not super well-versed in comics, it’s actually something I’m looking into because I’m going to apply to a comic design course later this year.
But, I do want to recommend Haikyu! It’s a manga and an anime, the writing is AMAZING and so is the art. (That anatomy and perspective, BEAUTIFUL) I love the way the…[Read more]

@scoutfinch190 Thank you so much! Your reply was honestly really helpful, and actually really helped me organize my thoughts on this (as well as spark some new ones!)
Fair warning, this is going to be a bit of a ramble – I wrote this post over a couple of days as I thought more about this!
I didn’t include this part at first because it’s kind…[Read more]

Of course, I’m happy I could help! And yeah, injuring characters is tough XD
As for your first questions, that’s quite beyond me XD But I can answer the latter!
Does anyone also know if there could be a pain-killer strong enough to ease physical wounds in pill-form?
Yes! Painkillers that work on the central nervous…[Read more]

Ah, that’s too bad (and too good at the same time 😂)! Do you know if they were snow tires?
And I agree with @anne_the_noob14 ‘s assessment on cut off ears.

I think yes! The “hearing” part of the ear is on the inside of your head, so unless the knife gouged into the person’s skull, hearing will still be intact 🙂 Although they’ll probably hear a bit differently, since our outside ear directs sound inwards, so things will probably sound differently.
(Someone correct me if that’s wrong XD )

I’m a bit late, but I thought I’d just say “yes” to this ⬆️. I’ve lived (and been injured) in very cold climates (-45, plus windchill). Never have I or anyone I know had a wound freeze over. Though we do tend to stay inside a lot at that -40 mark 😂.

@scoutfinch190 There’s actually a fairly short answer here: no. Not really, no.
Our bodies really like to be around 98.6 degrees in Fahrenheit. Water freezes below 32F and melts at temperatures above that. If you were to be in an absolutely frozen wasteland and got a massive bloody gash, some of the blood outside your body could freeze. The blood…[Read more]

I noticed something here…
Think about the physical proximity of the two guards that would be on either side of him. Punching their captive in the mouth would make more sense if he was upright and facing them, or pinned to the wall. At best, a guard might give him a grazing blow down the side of his jaw, but that would b…[Read more]

Isaiah replied to the topic Why is Christian Sci-Fi Scarcer than Fantasy? in the forum Sci-fi Writers 4 years, 5 months ago
@scoutfinch190 Thanks for the response! I think that a good way to create a God-centered sci-fi story would be to focus on the “science” portion. Sci-fi doesn’t need aliens or world travel. Just some advanced tech and science advancements. If we used the idea “science furthers our understanding of God,” it opens up quite a few possibilities. For…[Read more]
