Ah yes, so the novella is focusing on themes of justice and injustice, crime and punishment, judgment and mercy, and where compassion and love enter into all that. I actually have a fantasy rough draft set in a (I guess) Victorian-esque era where I did first-person retrospective. I found it great fun, until I couldn’t figure out how the darn thing would end. (but I haven’t given up on it!)

How interesting! I’ve never attempted a mystery personally, but I’m somewhat familiar with Hercule Poirot and Sherlock Holmes (mostly movies). Is it hard to come up the clues to a point where they’d be revealing just enough to not be a spoiler?
