@josiah Thanks! I need to read more Dickens sometime. Any books you would especially recommend?
@padawanpadme Thank you! I’m not sure exactly how long I’ve been writing. . . I think I really starting dabbling in it around fifth grade. No one is ever permitted to read anything I wrote in the time period that followed 😛 . It was terrible. I mean…[Read more]

@padawanpadme Kinda to echo @r-m-archer … figure out your government based off of the people. The people (or at least some of the people) in your country are the ones that build it. What are their values? What do they look too? What are their religion?

No worries 🙂
Aww thanks *blushes* 🙂
That’s so cool that you like doing characters so much: We’ll have to share tips and feedback lol because I could do with some of that haha XD

I don’t know how much difference that makes, but it has worked super well for me! Just having the basis of people you trust more, I…[Read more]

Nice to meet you *Bows 🙂
Yep, definitely not ones I’ll be posting lol!!!
My favourite part is the prose and descriptions. I absolutely love doing really unusual and detailed descriptions. I love trying to really make people ‘see’ what I’m describing by using different sorts of metaphors etc…
And I love characters…[Read more]

@padawanpadme As far as I can tell, it works by being involved with a lot of other writers and getting critique from them. And you just keep an eye out for the people you really like working with. Nothing fancy. No guarantees, but it generally works out.

^^ That’s a good starting point.
To get technical, it really depends on your sci-fi culture. If it’s futuristic America, just make up stuff that sounds cool and fairly normal. Futuristic Chinese? Make up something that sounds cool and Chinese. Now if it’s alien, you can do a pretty good fake by…[Read more]
