I still don’t think any of those things are inherently wrong to use. The real world has false gods and false religions. It’s far more one-note and lazy, in my opinion, to create a world in which there is only one religion which is obviously the true religion based on Christianity than to create a world with dynamic, conflicting beliefs in whi…
I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on that. It can be a slippery slope, and we should write with the awareness of that and step back from the topic if we do start to slip, but I don’t think it’s inherently problematic to show temporary benefits that pale in comparison to the cost.
I think an argument could be made for Riordan either way.…[Read more]
I don’t think that’s necessarily the case so long as rule #1 is followed and the benefits are temporary and far outweighed by the consequences.
It’s a real dangerous thing to mess with and it can portray you (the author) as someone who is okay with magic to readers who are confused. It’s a very slippery slope.
Riordan’s and Sanders…
I was still petting Azar during Acyn and Lorcan’s conversation. Acyn was being his usual, mildly irritating, self.
Quin seemed embarrassed, and I made a point of smiling at him again. I liked him already.

My friend, at some point you need to actually read a text before you can reasonably comment on it. I want to talk about several things that you’re not understanding based on wiki readings, but it would do no good because you haven’t read the text yourself. You owe it to yourself not to let other people make your opinions for you!
Oh noo your poor dad! Is he better now?
Yep, he’s doing fine! I’m really the only one with lingering COVID symptoms. *glares at COVID symptoms*

I don’t think that’s necessarily the case so long as rule #1 is followed and the benefits are temporary and far outweighed by the consequences. Magic in the real world holds appeal to people because it’s perceived to have a benefit, therefore to omit any such benefit in a fictional portrayal seems dishonest to me. But that…[Read more]
I’ll write out a fuller reply eventually (I’m pretty busy) but I think so far I’m agreeing with R.M. and Taylor.
So if I understand your point correctly, you’re saying that you agree that magic and supernatural things are sin, but it is fine to right if portrayed carefully as thing a person does in the book that is wrong, like any other sin such as murder, theft, lust, lying, etc…Is that correct?
If that is what you’re saying, that is a valid…[Read more]
Od course! Yeah…that wasn’t strictly characteristic for Quin, but I needed some way for him to start interacting, otherwise there’s this shy new kid who doesn’t say Jack Squat for 5 pages…wonderful. I really hope Quin and Locran end up being good friends. (Ig that’s up to me XD)

I’m really starting to like Locran (even his name is great!), even if Quin isn’t hitting it off well.
Aw thanks, that means a lot haha 🙂 yeeahh ooh that was pure awkward XD but I love it! I can’t wait to get to know Quin.
Well that was pure rude. Lorcan stared daggers at Quin as he turned away from him. Plus – he never yel…[Read more]
He sounds really cool! If you’ll tell me what he won’t, how did he get the scars? He sounds a bit more flamboyant than Quin, but just as reluctant to talk about where his injuries came from, and sensitive about people being able to see the marks of them. Will you bring him into the Castle? What’s his name?
LOL, I wish I could XD (M…[Read more]
Well, Qatar (or maybe Amar–which do you like better?) is the first character to do this to me, lol.
So, I think I’m figuring out this castle pretty well, except that your characters don’t seem to be in the same place/situation as the rest of us… ?

Quin looked from one face to the other in confusion and disbelief.
The tunnel that had turned into a wall shifted and cracked, and he jumped and started forward.
Locran snickered. [or should it be Acyn? or neither?–sorry if I desecrated anybody’s character]
He hobbled toward the little knot of strangers, and came to a stop next…[Read more]

Crack! That’s two seconds and down Santa Muerte as the Bridge falls out. Hurt my Ehud I’ll break you. One jolt more and the ground drops out, nada. Only thing I’m holding onto is his hood, my gun and all the ‘Hail Mary’s’ Santa Maria can give. I…[Read more]
Ok, thanks! I will have to remember to be on the look out for him.
I have an SC that arm wrestled me into making him a MC. 🙂

I just remembered nobody ever told Lorcan that Liorah was royalty XD That’s going to be quite a shock XD
Omigosh this is going to be hysterical🤣
Acyn crossed his arms, his gaze turning cool as he regarded Lorcan. “When it comes to that, I just might worry because as it just happens, they’re my friends, even if they…[Read more]
Perhaps I had been talking a little too fast. That happened sometimes. I shut up abruptly.
“Um, hi…hey. I’m Quin. Quin Miller. What’s—what are your names?” He said,
He noticed Acyn looking at his missing leg and blushed. Of course, I had noticed but I wasn’t about to show it. If Acyn was going to be rude I’d–
