Why thank you miss Rose, but lets not talk about the quality of the writing. That’s not an important factor…xD

That’s pretty good. Yeah, I never edit while on a WIP (here I am talking like I’ve been writing for years instead of 3 months xD), I just write. We’ll see how good I am at improving my prose this winter.

You two really just did that didn’t you. xD I wonder what put this topic on your mind…
Well, I’m always game for a good argument, let’s do this. ๐
First off, just to clear a notion that you might think I hold, I do not ever recommend reading bad writing or badly written books as part of one’s research, I find it nearly…[Read more]

+1 vote for Connor as a great villain. Don’t mind me Joy, I show up in weird places. xD
Also, Rose, how long did it take you in months to complete your 120k first draft for your second book?

Typed this up with about twice the words, but SE crashed for like the zillionth time this summer and I didn’t feel like typing it all up again.

Liorah is extremely argumentative and Ferran is shy, which usually comes off as rude. XD They say some pretty offensive things sometimes
Is that pretty much what I’m supposed to use to write your characters?

Hugon is sardonic, sarcastic, and cynical. Tristan strives to be of high honor and dignity, and he is gregarious. Maven is a roguish jokester, but also a good friend to Tristan.
Hugon:

Hey, I just wanna say, don’t do more college unless you find it absolutely necessary. I’m all for just diving into writing and spending your time doing that instead of college, especially if you want to publish.
Thanks, you as well. ๐
Rose, you’re new look is slightly ominous. xD

My goal is to create a story thatโs good enough, not one thatโs perfect, because I know Iโll grow faster by learning from mistakes on finished products than polishing the same story for three years (which Iโve also done).
I very much agree with this sentiment, especially when it comes to the quality of one’s prose. They’ll never b…[Read more]

If I dictated, my prose wouldn’t even be readable.
What’s your process after you finish the first draft? Do you write a second draft, or do you just do lots of editing?
