Hi Nola! Sierepica of the Fuzzywalkers here. *looks at signature* 😀 Nice to re-meet and re-see you again.
I’m now trying to place my knowledge of your business into the context of Nola Applequill. 😛 Do your parents own the business?
If I hear the name one more time…okay, context marketing is important, but I want to see you finish that…[Read more]

It is finished now! @katherineh, thank you so much for the help! It’s good to have a fellow writer help out – massively encouraging.
No worries, I fixed that. 😉 One of the 26s was pointing to 24.
I’m glad I could entertain. Also, this was a really fun story to write, so thanks for letting me write most of it! I wish we could publish it…[Read more]

Ha ha. The happy ending is 24. I’ve decided that you can take 16, since 15, 9, and 8 all point to 24 – at least, some of the options, anyway. Just keep going with whatever plan you had for 16 and ignore me. 🙂
Other bad endings for sure include 21, 22, and 23. Though I really really wanted to write 23…:P

Yeah, I thought about axing the name Ethermoo, but I thought placing a diamond inside our actual moon would break the willing suspension of disbelief.
Lol it’s final (essays) week for me. But it looks like nobody will finish this unless I do, so I am currently typing this story frantically. I resolved most of the edit comments so far. Anyone…[Read more]

This is a good list, yes. Another book that budding poets may find useful is by Billy Collins. It’s actually a collection of high quality poems that are sooo good. It’s like, poems that you may actually enjoy reading, which can help you find your poetic voice and find your groove. I’m partial to “Did You Miss Anything?” and “Message: Bottle…[Read more]

Quick answers are okay, but ah, me getting stuck is getting a bit deeper than that.
And how does one build this magic email list? I mean, I can sit down and crank out a website with an email signup form, but that doesn’t build anything. I can crank Twitter for followers, but I have no success at getting them to actually even view my website…[Read more]

After reading @daeus-lamb‘s recent concern over his possible marketing disaster, and after reading the Writer’s Journey Plan again and noticing the mention of “platform building stuff coming soon”, I’d like to open the floor.
Because…I hate to admit this, but I still don’t know how to do this platform building stuffingans. This is coming from…[Read more]

The test that I took a few years back says that I’m a Choleric-Melancholic. I tend to stress over my work and all of the details that go into it – I hate being rushed and everything must be precise and exactly RIGHT. Something needing to be done in a couple hours makes all of my nerves want to bail out of whatever peaceful dance they were…[Read more]

What I would do is this: You have three genres in this book. Make three ads, one that emphasizes the one story of each genre. Then take the ads to people who read that genre and push it to them.
(Isn’t that the point of writing a three-genre book anyway, to show how many genres you can write and how many tricks you can pull off? Extend that to…[Read more]

Don’t look at me, I dislike CCM in general myself. *trips over collection of rock and metal on the way out the door* I was thinking of Skillet and Red, Christian musicians who actually put thought into their work instead of using “Christian” as an excuse for poor quality. Oh, throw TobyMac and Mandisa on that list too…anyway, but not…[Read more]

MyClipboardIsMyViolin replied to the topic The Best of Writing Music. Any Thoughts? in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 11 months ago
Yes.
It is indeed. Mr. Mullins was quite the talented worship artist, who put thought into his music. The My Deliverer song is off of the Jesus Record, which I found to be somewhat eccentric since they developed it from a crude tape of his last song ideas, but it is fun.
In particular, he is a talented vocalist with a good range. That talent…[Read more]

RIP Rich Mullins. He was/is the best. I particularly like “My Deliverer” and “Rock of My Salvation” sung by him.
Okay, I’m not actually learning violin. It’s an analogy having to do with Lindsey Stirling and in her videos about her violin and how it’s the answer to everything. I mentioned that on my intro thread. In two months I may just give…[Read more]

I don’t think you have to follow the Writing Journey Map strictly. I’m pretty sure it falls under the “suggestions for improvement” category.
Full disclosure: I completely ignored it and I haven’t been kicked out yet 😛 (heathen!) so you can use (or not use) whatever resources you desire. Though I did look back over it just now and it does…[Read more]

*puts up hand* I would join a poetry guild, if one was available. I enjoy poetry. The problem is that ol’ poetry is not as monetizable as stories and not as infamous in Christian circles for being bad. Our musicians generally aren’t knocked on for lack of skill, just lack of popularity.
@kristinbradley I enjoyed Jane Eyre. Feisty Jane reminded…[Read more]

True, this. *shudders*
I’m nearly always listening to music when I can get away with it. Lots of metal from various artists – Kamelot, Red, Skillet (though that’s rock) tend to be my standbys for writing. I particularly dig “Phantom Divine (Shadow Empire)” by Kamelot for writing, including the instrumental version. I also like Skillet’s…[Read more]

It doesn’t have to end in the MC dying, necessarily, but the other endings would ideally be somewhat bleak, yeah. However, if the MC does die, that’s not a problem either.

I’m not technically done writing this one, hmm. Choose your own adventure stories have more than one ending. I was just throwing the idea out there as a start to make sure everyone else was on board. It seems that they are, so I suppose that I need to buckle down and finish.
I kinda envisioned letting anyone else add to it, though, if they…[Read more]
