@rose-colored-fancy Just subbed! 😀

I can imagine! But I know WFR will be amazing and incredible! You can absolutely do this!
I’m going to be recommending it to everyone as soon as it’s out XD
Aww my goodness thank you!! <333

That’s okay! It was really hectic this year, we wrote more than 4 million words! My team won again, but really barely, we were losing until the very last day, so that was exciting 😀
Wow, that’s exciting! Good job! *fist pumps*
I read that you’re going to publish it!!! That’s so exciting I’m so proud of you! I bet you worked so hard for it, that’s just the best thing!! That must be so scary and exciting at the same time!
THANK YOU! I’m super excited for it. I love WFR with all my heart and enjoy every minute I work on it, so there’s no other novel I’d want to be my debut novel. It is kind of scary though that it’s only a year from now, because a year is really not much time when you think about it. But we’ll get through with lots of prayers and tea. 😄

Sounds fun!
For my historical fiction novel, Where Faith Remains, the main characters’ names just came to me without any thought, so I wasn’t thinking about their meanings or anything.
For my MC, Eliza, her full name is Elizabeth Jaeda, which I think is beautiful. Elizabeth means “God is my oath” and Jaeda means “wise” according to my Google search. Eliza’s father’s name is Russell, which means “red” according to another search. XD
For my Life of Sacrifice Series, my Biblical fiction series about St. Paul, a couple characters do have very symbolic names. My MC, Paul’s sister, is Temira, which means “tall” which is funny since she’s quite small. XD I just chose the name because I liked it. For Temira’s son and Paul’s oldest nephew, Reuben, his name means “behold, a son” and Temira chose this name for him because she’d struggled to have a child and when she finally had one, her shame was taken away. Like Leah, who named her son Reuben for the same reason (Genesis 29:32). For Seth, Temira’s adopted son and Paul’s adopted nephew, his name means “anointed; compensation.” Which is extremely symbolic because Seth was anointed by God to save his uncle’s life and consequently the lives of many in the Roman Empire, because Paul was able to minister in Rome later (Acts 23:16). The “compensation” part of his name is also extremely symbolic, but I can’t say why because that would be a spoiler. 😉 Seth, of course, is another Biblical name – Eve named her third son Seth because he was her compensation for Abel after Cain killed him (Genesis 4:25).
Funny thing about Reuben’s and Seth’s names is that I actually originally chose both just because I liked them, and I was shocked when I looked up the meanings and saw how well they fit the characters and the story. XD

Why does this sum up my everyday life? XD
Glad I’m not the only one. 😂
Woahhh that’s big. I love that, I really hope you can achieve that goal!! I mean, 20k in like two months?? That’s fantastic! Best of luck 😉
Thank you so much!

Hello, CWW struck again and I have nothing to say for myself. I humbly beg for forgiveness XD
Haha, no worries! I wish I could have done CWW but I had too much going on at school, so no time. 😔
Oooh, that’s too cool! If you ever need beta-readers, I’m here, I’m ready, I want to read it!
Yay! I’ll definitely be keeping that in mind when the time comes!

First of all, hi! 😀
Second, I actually have some clear goals for 2022 – that’s a first for me. Most of my goals, when I have them at all, are very vague and therefore don’t get accomplished because I don’t know how to accomplish them. XD
I’m working on a historical fiction novel right now called Where Faith Remains, and I hope to have the first draft done by February – I’m about 20k in right now and expect the novel to reach 40k or maybe a little more. By the end of 2022, I hope to have the novel completely finished. My other goal for 2022 is to research self-publishing. And yeah, that’s basically it. 🙂

Hi, Cat! I do remember you. 🙂 Great to see you here on SE!
https://discipleshipwithjoy.com
LOL, exactly XD Do you all also celebrate from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday?
Yep, we do!
Ohh, that’s the coolest! I read the Know the Novel article and it looks so cool! Are you going to revise it or is it just a quick project like Moonlyte?
Thanks!
I’m planning to do a few drafts and revise it. I’m hoping the first draft will go smoothly, ’cause I’d like to finish it soon. I’m just kinda letting myself write whatever with the reassurance that I’ll fix it in edits XD

Oh, it’s just the best when that happens! I love when characters just grow by themselves and become the most interesting characters! They’re even better than the characters who just appear in a spark of inspiration and stay the same all the way through.
I know, right?!? I definitely agree!
In the summer months the sun sets so late that I can’t write on Saturdays anyway, and in the winter it’s the same for friday.
Same! #sabbathcrew, am I right? XD
My resolution/plan is to finish this next novel in three months, which doesn’t sound like a lot but consistency is the thing I struggle with most, so it’s kind of a challenge that direction.
That’s a good plan! No, believe me, that IS a lot. Three months is pretty fast to finish a whole novel.
On the vein of resolutions, I’ve got something to admit. I decided not to start the first book in my Life of Sacrifice Series quite yet… because something sort of interrupted the plan. XD Suddenly I remembered a story idea I had a few months back and I felt an urge to explore it again. Long story short, I’m now working on a historical fiction novella that I’m aiming to finish by February. It’s called Where Faith Remains (title may be subject to change). But yeah. XD

I’M SORRY I HAVE THE MEMORY OF A GOLDFISH WITH AMNESIA! I’m here though XD
Haha, no problem! XD
Personally, I add a few side characters in each book, purely because they’re needed and settings switch around. I also tend to swap around main character perspectives, just considering which are needed in the book. Book 2 and 3 have dual perspectives, with one main character besides the protagonist narrating. It depends on the plot, mainly, though sometimes side characters just outgrew their roles and became main characters.
Ooh, yeah, I get that. Paul’s oldest nephew, Reuben, was actually meant to be just a side character originally, but he outgrew his role SO much. Now his storyline is easily competing for the most intense, which I NEVER saw coming. Honestly, it was kind of the same for both nephews. Seth was meant to be a side character originally too, but now he’s one of the main characters, the third book is named after him, he has a POV in the third book, and tbh he’s my favorite character. I just love him XD I’m looking forward to writing his book, Seth: Anointed, the most.
YAY!! That’s fantastic! I know it’ll be fantastic!
Thank you!! My study guides actually just arrived, so I’m super excited to dive in.
I hope to start my third book in the beginning of January, probably!
Awesome!! Should we make a New Year’s resolution to write every day? 😉
Tbh I don’t know if I could hold up my end of that resolution. XD I’m always so insanely busy and the days disappear before I know it, haha. But maybe I could try, and take a few days off in January when I go up to my academy’s junior-senior Bible camp and don’t have any Internet. XD
https://discipleshipwithjoy.com
And in the meantime I can work on the next volume! It’s always a bit different, but at least I still get to see my characters!
And maybe introduce a few new ones, too? (Which begs the question – do you think new characters should be introduced in each new book of a series? For my St. Paul series, there definitely will be a few new characters added in each book, just ’cause the Biblical account calls for it. XD)
Yep, I read it and it sounds like so much fun! If you ever want to get back to working on it and you need beta-readers… please? *puppy eyes*
Thanks!
Haha, we shall see…
But in other writing news, I’m planning to start working on the first book in my St. Paul series in mid-December! I ordered some New Testament study books so I can do serious research. I hope I can begin making some good, steady progress.

Thanks! I actually just finished my second draft today! LOL, I always forget that I really don’t like finishing projects. Like… what am I supposed to do with my life? XD There’s always like thirty seconds of relief and then overwhelming melancholy XD
Wow CONGRATS!! *cheers super loudly, throws confetti, and cuts you a slice of your favorite cake*
Aw man, I’ve been working on my project for so long now, I think I’d be ecstatic about finishing the first draft of the first book in the series. XD But don’t you worry – there’s always editing!
Cool! Sounds like you had a lot of fun with it! Are you going to post it on your blog?
I did! I probably won’t post the actual story on my blog, but I did include a couple snippets in Part Two of the linkup that I posted a few days ago.
https://discipleshipwithjoy.com
Sorry my replies have been slow, NaNo is really proving to be a lot XD I can’t wait till it’s over but I’m glad I did it!
No problem at all! And HUGE congrats on doing NaNo! *gives you a high five*
LOL, SAME! I do that all the time, the time before I fall asleep is how I’ve plotted my entire third book XD I practically only had to copy my phone’s notes and organize them and now I have to fill in a few gaps and work out the details. Instead of the usual downright painful brainstorming, I already did it XD It’s delightful!
That sounds so amazing! *sighs* I wish I could plot entire books like that.
Oh, I keep forgetting to mention that I loved your post on Kingdom Pen! It was really cool!
Thanks a bunch! It was really fun to write.
And I can’t wait to see where Moonlyte Uprising is going!
Thanks! Just posted the second part of the NaNo linkup, actually.

ConvertKit is a good newsletter service you might like! I’ve personally decided to go with MailChimp, but I have a few friends who use ConvertKit for their newsletters, and it works great for them.
I personally enjoy it when bloggers share short stories through newsletters. You could always have that as a little bonus at the end of the newsletter. Those are always fun, in my opinion. You could also use short stories as incentives or rewards for subscribing to the newsletter.
Like @r-m-archer said, people will usually subscribe to your site to get WordPress’s email updates, and you can insert the links manually into your newsletter. I’m not sure whether newsletter services can send blogposts.
