Abirami’s turn… (cheesy grin with slanted eyes)
Abirami
The door, if you could call it that anymore, was all but shredded as I pushed it open and entered the room that had previously been infested with Ku’s hive.
I marveled at the destruction that mere bugs could do. Just a few months ago, Ku’s hive had successfully committed what amounted to…[Read more]

Warning… some of this is me rambling, so skim over if you want… =)
This is SO AWESOME! lol. Funny how it’s possible to geek out over a character castle. hehe.
This seems like an incredible and wonderful dynamic! Lots of great character development potential there! Just reading that small bit, I want to know what…[Read more]

😁 this is going to be awesome! @jared-williams and @rose-colored-fancy you did a good job with Jade! She would definitely love having that power and would not hesitate to use it.
Yes. Dancing! Jade pulled her crazy blonde curls up into a bun and proceeded to stretch with a Cheshire Cat grin stretched across her face. Since Abirami was ser…[Read more]

Calliope
The girl was laughing over the prospect of Abirami having to dance. I couldn’t hide a wicked grin myself. At least this was going to be funny.
Ophelia bent over her leg splayed back, as though her spine was made of rubber and her bones of elastic. I shuddered. Even seeing her do it made me uncomfortable. It looked so…[Read more]

Avin
“What happened?” whispered Enydd. Avin glanced at her, then back at the man that lay gasping on the floor. “I don’t know.”
He’s dying.
He glanced back at Enydd, feeling more helpless than he ever had before. She blinked at him for a moment, then moved suddenly. “I can help.”
She scooted forward and pulled a vial out of her pocket. “It’s…[Read more]

Avin
He watched Enydd dive into the stream before following. He’d not been swimming for more than a few seconds before he began to collide with huge pieces of ice. One crashed against his shoulder, and he dodged away from another coming at his head. Through a blur, he thought he saw a shape swimming in the stream, spewing the ice into the dim…[Read more]

Avin
The girl didn’t say anything for a moment, and Avin wondered if he’d frightened her. Then she began talking. Slowly at first, but faster as her words sketched her home and family. Suddenly she stopped. He could see her grin sheepishly in the darkness. “Sorry, I can go on and on when I start talking. It runs in the family.” she sa…[Read more]

Enydd is being ridiculously stubborn with me, revealing she has a different side to her but refusing to show it to me. Because of her refusal to cooperate, her narrative may seem out of character at times.
LOLL, don’t you love when they get like that XD Well, it’s usually a sign of development!

@rose-colored-fancy pulled Mejt and Co. and has put in Ophelia and Calliope (Cal for short. Ophelia is bubbly and energetic and Cal is cynical, but actually…[Read more]

Here’s a character castle run-down:
This is where your characters get to interact with others’. You can flex your character by pushing them out of (or into!) their comfort zone, interacting with them outside of the context of your novel, or experimenting with aspects of them that you never see.
The castle itself is just a…[Read more]

Ohhh, same XD Everyone has been more or less absent. when there are some more folks I’ll join in again! I’m considering taking out Halmar and Mejt (Their story has been moved to the back burner for now) and drop in some other characters from a mystery I’m plotting.

Yes, that makes sense! The way you have it it sounds a little dystopian, which is great if that is your genre. Also–and you may already know this–you will need compelling motivation both for Lyra and her family: Lyra needs motivation to run away, and her family need motivation to try and find her.

Ah! Well, somehow causing a war would certainly destroy their innocence, and there are almost innumerable ways to start a war. Genocide would also ruin their innocence, but I feel like it’s less plausible. It would work best if whoever your antagonist is no longer had their innocence. Either their from our world (like in Out of the…[Read more]

@inkhorn Ahh, okay, I see what you’re trying to go for now. My first idea might not really work then. 😂
So, this is giving me The Giver vibes. Also maybe The Matrix. And I can kinda see the archetype of opening a forbidden secret, like Eve in Genesis or Pandora in Greek mythology.
What if she stumbles upon a website containing the secret tho…[Read more]

1. Name: Dorian or Ciaran
Edward Korsahn, but I usually just refer to him as Korsahn
2. Age: somewhere around 45
eeeh, I struggle with the math too, uh, but I think it would be somewhere in his forties

@inkhorn Soo, the first thing I thought of is that she’s actually insane, and her family is desperately trying to bring her back down to reality. So one day she thinks it’s aliens, another day it’s noxious gases being released, but she’s clearly unstable. So once she finds the truth, she will basically destroy her own inner world, which her…[Read more]
