@Kate It’s strange that in both writing and real life, I’ve only come across one INTJ male. Whereas females… I can personally name at least six.

@Noahlitle I… actually really like that idea. It’s a nice blend of the bizarrely unique and boringly normal. Perfect for prose.
@Kate OOOOH, YES. I don’t listen to a lot of Owl City, but I think Emma might have sent me that song at one point, because it sounds terribly familiar. His creative wording is inspiring.

@daeus-lamb Heeey, I never heard of that second personality quiz thingy you linked! I almost like its setup better than the 16 Personalities’ one.

Guys, if we go with Fantasy, won’t we basically be piggy-backing off the easiest genre for this type of thing? Considering it was everyone’s immediate first thought, that seems to me the exact reason why we shouldn’t do it. It doesn’t seem unique enough. While contemporary is definitely harder, I think that well-done contemporary prose can be the…[Read more]

I recognize I’m a little late here, but I would just like to say I READ THIS AND AM AWARE. And shall do my utmost not to be kicked out. 😏
Also, guild badges sound nice.

Good points, guys. I’m not against fanart (goodness knows, I’ve drawn enough of it), but I agree, we should be sober about the fact that others will think we endorse the ethics/worldview of the story behind it. I once drew some fanart for a book I eventually put down due to various content issues, and it’s always bothered me, since I’d pub…[Read more]

@ncstokes I’ve never been so proud of my type as when I heard Enjolras was also one… *dangles red banners from every window of her house* Long live the revolution.
(Even though I still have literally no idea what it was for, even after reading the book…)

@Dekreel Belief it or not, I know an ENFP whose motto is literally “SPARKLES AND GLITTER AND PURPLE AND SWIRLS!!!!”
It’s really strange when humans fit their MBTI box so perfectly…

Also, @Daeus-Lamb, I’m sorry I haven’t been more active in the guild. Life has been… insane. I’m going to make a concerted effort to be around more often though, because I like this place and don’t want to miss y’all’s coolness.

How did you become a writer?

I am an INTJ, and have nothing bad to say about them.
*aaand that pretty much sums up the type*
Though I rather like the sound of our stereotypes (come on, who wouldn’t want to be compared to Palpatine???)(that’s a joke, by the way), I’m much more in touch with my emotions/empathic towards others than we’re generally described as. (Yes, I joke…[Read more]

@christieaton My first reaction is that the “ideas” look squished. I’m not sure if that’s because they’re forced to go around the canvas even though a natural flow wouldn’t have such a hard right-angle, or if there’s genuinely not enough space between the canvas and the top of the picture, but all in all, I think there’s too much effort to keep…[Read more]

@Ann-of-Lothlorien THIS. This speaks to me on a deep and personal level. 😂😂 I’ll be honest, I have thought various cynical things of this ilk many, MANY times. Especially about “motivational” quotes.
People say some really stupid things sometimes.

Hey all! I’m Sarah, a sarcasm advocate, chocolate enthusiast, and resident oddity. I am seventeen years old, love Jesus, hate coffee, consider myself an adopted Canadian, and will probably dissolve into geeky ramblings if ever put into a situation that involves medieval weaponry. I’ve been drawing since I was tiny, and the main mediums I use are…[Read more]

Sarah Baran replied to the topic Synopsizes for short stories in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 10 months ago
@Daeus-Lamb Basically, I agree with @Karthmin about the first one. Too long for a short story, and the first sentence gives too much away. (Not to mention it feels a little clunky.) I liked his edits on it.
As previously stated about TGZ, it’s a leeeetle dramatic and extreme.

Sarah Baran replied to the topic Writing Conferences in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 10 months ago
@Catwing Sadly, I’ve never been to a writing conference in my life, nor will I be going to any in the immediate future. (Though I’m determined that Realm Makers is happening one day, even if I have to walk there myself…) So no, I won’t be there, and I don’t really know of any, either.
I hope you have an awesome time, though!
