Hey! I have a couple of free verse (?) (I don’t know if most of them would be considered free verse) poems Iβd like to have critiqued, and Iβll be posting more on this topic as they come along. If anyone can help or give their feedback on my poems, that would be much appreciated!
I donβt know too many people on SE, and I don’t know many peopl…[Read more]

@evelyn Congradulations!
@elisha-starquill You have an OC that speaks in rhyme? That’s cool! I don’t think I could ever right a character that speaks in rhyme

@evelyn *throws confetti* WOW. Good work! Hold off on that paper-wad throwing practice for a bit, and keep it up! You’re doing awesome. π
@elisha-starquill Oh, cool! That will be fun. How does your MC respond to that quirk? (Does it annoy her, amuse her, stop her from taking him seriously, etc.?)
Well, the plot is the reason the MC’s whole pack…[Read more]

@emberynus-the-dragonslayer Okay!
@eden-anderson The actual copies? I don’t know if the actual copies exist but the typed (that is… typed by typewriter) copies that my Great Grandfather owned were passed down to my Great Uncle (I think) when he passed away with all the other really neat things. Photographs. Letters. Research. Wills.…[Read more]

@elisha-starquill – I’m liking it okay. My delusions of being an instant gifted violin player were already crushed, so now I’m just plodding through lessons… my best friend that was teaching me is starting college courses this fall though, so I don’t know if she’ll have time anymore, and I’m starting work in a week, so I may have to drop it for…[Read more]

Um, how to explain this.
So, no, it is not just breaking up chords. You play the melody of the song, but not just that.
Here, I’ll just give you an example.

@ariella-newheart That’s a fun thing about writers—a lot of new things we do can be done in the name of story research. π
@elisha-starquill Ahh, yes, that sounds tricky! What is the wise person like? Does (s)he have a distinguishing characteristic or relationship with the MC that you could maybe use to make their time together more…[Read more]

@elisha-starquill Book two continues Ariella’s journey in the world of Reimira. She’s getting chased by people and there is the introduction of a new enemy, whose character I will have to develop some more.
Youβll be in my prayers. Have you been homeschooled your whole life?
Thank you! Yes, I have been homeschooled my whole life except for one y…[Read more]

@elisha-starquill I just read the summary of your story and I immediately liked it! It’s a cool concept. π
@steward-of-the-pen Since it was supposed to be a controversial topic, I chose to do my research paper on vaccine safety. π We’ll see what my teacher thinks of it. (I’m starting school tomorrow.) I have also been editing a little on book…[Read more]

Well, after being unexpectedly whisked away to summer camp last week and having an absolute BLAST (and a break from writing), I’m back with a couple bruises and bug bites and ready to tackle some more writing! I’m going to lower my goal to 5k though; I way underestimated how crazy August will be for me. But that’s okay, as long as there’s…[Read more]

Well i can actually play quite a few chords but I would have no idea what most of them are called. Like I can follow along fine but if you asked me to play an A Minor# chord I’d be like “come again?”. I play almost entirely by ear so I do a lot of fingerpicking etc.
Yes it is pretty amazing having a composer for a dad.…[Read more]

I play nylon string, but I learned onΒ a steel string and just got my new guitar a year ago. I am taking classes on how to play classical. Is the only difference between fingerstyle and classical the kind of music you play?

@elisha-starquill Hi! Thank you!
Right now I’m reading the Becoming Beauty trilogy by Brittany Fichter. It’s Christian fiction, and has been pretty good. It’s one of my friend’s favorites. (@/corkybookworm, but she’s not in the guild so she can’t see this.) You? And yeah! That’s really exciting! We’ve done really well overall with the win and all…[Read more]

@emberynus-the-dragonslayer: Hey! So, I listened to the Austin French songs you recommended and I LOVE them! I think either Why God or Freedom Hymn is my favorite.
@elisha-starquill: LOL yes it’s just so much fun to add things in your story where most readers are like “Huh, well that’s random” and a small few are like “OHHHH! *impressed finger…[Read more]

The Greek food was delicious!! And only one dish (the falafels) didn’t go as planned. But thankfully Whole Foods exist and apparently they have pre-prepared falafels. π
