“St-stop stop,” Alessio stuttered. Squeezing himself in a tighter ball.
Nithel felt tears tracing down his cheeks. “My friend.” How he wanted to embrace the youth. To cry on him. To tell him he was loved and why. But Nithel didn’t want to get burned.
“Thus says the Lord who created…” He ghosted the words “who created you…”
Nith…[Read more]

If you really want to put “better Christian fiction” in the hands of readers (which is an admirable goal!), you want to make sure that it’s actually as good as you can make it. The many rounds of editing and the feedback, at least, are non-negotiable. And there’s nothing wrong with waiting to publish until you can do it well. Your…[Read more]

Okie doke. There’s a lot to unpack here.
First, don’t treat self-publishing like a fast-track. Self-publishing, when done with care and invested in properly, can take a long time. Not as long as traditional publishing (that is part of the reason I went the self-pub route, also), but still a long time. So don’t rush. If you rush,…[Read more]

@crazywriter I myself have been a part of his forum and other communities long enough to know that the chances to become a traditionally published author are not that at all.
But even I have questions concerning marketing and such. -

Nithel let out the smallest growl, glancing back to Jericho and Brendan. But he was darting after Alessio. We can’t get separated. No. Please.Â
He ran, trying to grab Alessio at first. But then sparks started to flicker around the youth, and Nithel was hesitant. They darted through a door, down a hall. More flames. He couldn’t lose him. He had…[Read more]

Nithel’s chest ached as he stared at Brendin, then looked to Alessio.
Alessio backed away, almost seeming to hide. He swallowed hard, staring at Brendin with fear in his eyes.
“Alessio.” Nithel turned, staring at his friend’s eyes. Nithel didn’t want to step away from Brendin and Jericho, just in case he could help. But he didn’t want Alessio to…[Read more]

Nithel nodded a bit when he suggested there might be books of their worlds. But he looked hurt and evasive about it. Alessio stared at his friend, the delighted light in his eyes starting to shatter. What happened, had he done something? Was Nithel ok?
“Perhaps there is,” Jericho said uneasily and began to turn over books with him. A wave of gui…[Read more] -

Where am I? What is this place?
The thought floated through Malvat’s head, spoken in a strong voice. A newcomer? Did all mankind enjoy hiding in the shadows instead of presenting themselves as soon as they arrived?
Malvat turned towards the thought, narrowing his eyes at a pile of books and scrolls on the floor, no longer concealed by the…[Read more]

Nithel was running. He had side-stepped Jericho, her fallen book, and Alessio, Brendin had screamed.
Nithel skidded before the white curtain, pausing for less than a second. He had gone in. Nithel looked over his shoulder toward Alessio and Jericho, then ripped back the curtain and went in.
The mirror had already reformed itself.
“Brendin.”…[Read more]

“Maybe there’s a book about your world here…”
Jericho’s deep blue eyes flicked upwards in alarm. If such a book were indeed here, it was likely to contain a more accurate version of the story she told. After all, it was part of the founding legend of the Kithnarya. Jericho had rarely shared her role in the story with anyone; she had told the l…[Read more]

Alessio nodded with a slightly crooked smile, saying like he didn’t mean it, “I’m very responsible.”
Nithel believed it. His eyes touched a small bit of seriousness before Alessio grabbed his hand, and a smile stole the man’s eyes. His friend dragged him about and Nithel was close to laughter, eyes dancing at the abandon of the boy as Nithe…[Read more]

Kalmar glanced up when he heard that crazy red-haired girl giggling something with the word “Caitir” in it. It tickled the back of his mind, but he couldn’t remember why it sounded so familiar. He turned to Janner, about to ask if he recognized it, too, when Arundelle…[Read more]

“Do not let me hold you back.” Nithel said with a small smile that made Alessio smile back a little, suddenly warm inside and a little bewildered by it. “But be careful Alessio.”
His friend’s protectiveness touched him, although he had a hard time taking it seriously with everything that’d already happened to him. It seemed like a fact of fate tha…[Read more] -

I’m actually pretty tired, I’ve been dog- and house-sitting the past two nights and didn’t get nearly enough sleep, but last night was the last night and I get to sleep in tomorrow morning 🙂 .

“..Nithel?” Alessio whispered.
Nithel’s eyes lifted to him. Pained, but the man attempted a small smile for his friend, that slowly dwindled as he saw fear in Alessio’s eyes. He was sorry. About something. Is it- He cares about my tears. Yet unshed. Nithel’s lips twitched a small bit, teasing a grateful smile. Then Alessio touched Nithel’s arm,…[Read more]

Alessio blinked, trying to shrug off his thoughts, and glanced up. Beside him, Nithel seemed upset. Had he done something, what’s wrong? Maybe something he said reminded Nithel of some old wound or…Nithel was sad for him…?

It was dawn. Ash’s ears twitched, and then his nose wiggled, and then his sneeze escaped. He groaned softly and opened his eyes. Where was he? Why was he so cold?
Abruptly everything flooded back and he scrambled to his hooves. Here he was, the only herbivore on a hill full of carnivores, and he was sleeping. SLEEPING! Thank goodness they’d all…[Read more]
