@the-fledgling-artist I don’t have any experience with blogs at this point, and while I haven’t put together my own professional portfolio yet, I do know a couple things about it. I’m happy you are doing this.
The biggest thing is to be sure that you select pieces that really show your own style, that are full, completed pieces (one or two sketches if fine but you really want to show off your best work. Select pieces that also show off your full range of styles and talents as well.
One thing I would do is look at youtube videos of artists showing off their portfolios that got them hired. I know the Youtuber and Disney animator Laura Price has some good things to say on the subject.
Hope that helps!

The art guild isn’t full, the person to contact would be @Daeus. If you are a serious artist and want to join. You should be able to sign up through the regular guild registration.

@the-fledgling-artist Yeah it is really a weird platform and as far as I know practically all artists are struggling with it.

@kay Hey hey, I want to see! If you draw you are an artist in my book. Share with us what you do!

@lillian-parks03 Cute 🙂 I also think the values are strong. Almost looks like it could be a tattoo design. Good work. 🙂

@the-fledgling-artist From what I have learned, use hashtags so more people might be able to find you, and interact with other artists (especially if they have around the same size following) I watched a few Youtube videos but the IG “algorithm” to gain more people to find you is really difficult.
Just try to be consistent in posting and just see what happens. Have fun 🙂
(I’m kinda all over the place with my own account.)

@the-fledgling-artist Love this! One thing I would aim to work is maybe making your line work a little cleaner. Like under her chin for example. That’s the only thought I have. 🙂

@the-fledgling-artist don’t do that you’ll die from lack of oxygen 🙂 I don’t want a dead artist on my hands 😀

Hey all! It’s been a while since I popped up on here. I’ve been busy with some *coughs* secret things for the Art Department (keep an out on August 3rd. 😉 )
Anyway, if you’re curious as to what my art adventures have been, I’ve been up to quite a bit of painting lately, I have some pretty big canvases that have been a 11 hour project so far and have a lot to go so I’ll share those when I’m done. Also, I sold a painting as I’ve been slowly kicking off my personal art business (which is on Instagram.) That’s about it for me, here are some characters I did digitally I’d thought I’d show off just for fun.

@lillian-parks03 Don’t be afraid to use reference photos. Look at pictures of people. Go on Pinterest, you can find tons of people to draw. If you really study faces you’ll be able to better pinpoint what you are doing wrong. I know a lot of beginner artists can be scared to use references but even professionals use it. Trust me, it’s not “cheating” at all. Eventually, you can learn how to mix and match references.
That is the best advice I can give artists.
