@e-k-seaver, I thought you had in mind more of a “big picture” read…at least that’s what comes to my mind when I hear the term “beta reader.” Unfortunately, I don’t have the time for a line-by-line editing project right now. Sorry to disappoint!

No professional experience, but I do enjoy that kind of thing. I filled out the form.

@e-k-seaver I have beta-read once before- I’m not sure if that counts as experience or not. I have written a lot and had several people beta for me. Again, not certain if that counts.
If it does, your story sounds interesting and I’d be happy to read it. I am drowning in college assignments and fifteen million other books that I’m also reading,…[Read more]

@e-k-seaver, I can’t say I’m the world’s most experienced beta (or gamma) reader, but I have done it a few times before, and I have a fairly good sense of what it takes to make a story a good one. Yours looks interesting–a little different than what I’ve tried before. If you want, I’d be happy to give it a shot. Would you be willing to beta read…[Read more]

According to the Alliance of Leviathan, the Reflections were founded to determine who among the population were the smartest and strongest– and most capable to lead the nation that covered the globe. Those who won would be given an education at the University, the last college existing in the world. Those who lost would be forgotten, their n…[Read more]

It is funny and cool how ideas for books will just pop into you head. I just had that happen to me driving home from a shopping trip. Usually it starts with a thought related to whatever you are doing, then it sparks a fire of thought. Wow, did I just say that? I’m not the detailed/metaphor type. That’s my sister.
Anyway, it’s great…[Read more]

I looked at your book. It sounds really cool.😄
I’m working on one book right now…I might be halfway done with the first draft, but I’m not sure.😆 Pantser.😉 I probably have about 20 other books in my head, and 1 or 2 that I’ve started and never finished. It’s weird how writing has forced me to start thinking in years, (like an…[Read more]

@zee, I’m not sure! I don’t think most people rewrite their characters ages, it was just a question that popped into my head. XD
I think it would be interesting to know if anyone has done that before. It would really change the plot of most books, I think, to make your main character go from eleven to thirty-one, but it would be an interesting challenge.

That’s cool, how many books are you writing right now? I have one I’m currently writing and four more in my head (I wrote down a little), and one I’m taking a break from.
Thank you so much for your interest in my book! I have a goal of at least 25 copies downloaded a day, and I’m failing today’s goal. I have eighteen.

Ever since I was little, my characters have always been a few years older than me, or late teens. Right now (I think I’m improving😄) my main character is in his 60’s…but he’s a wizard, so he seems younger. In my other books, my MC’s are 17, and 9.
I’ll try to check out your book.

I like the idea of having a young child for a main character, and I’ve written short stories with children, but so far all my novels star adults…and a couple of older teenagers. Re-writing my characters as younger would really mess with the stories’ plots (because they are romances) but with a different genre, this would be an interesting…[Read more]

Hi!
Question: what age group do you usually have for your main characters? I always make my main character a kid and surround him or her with other kids. Have you ever tried re-writing your character’s age? If so, how much did it change the story?
Also, in case you haven’t heard, I published a book yesterday that is completely free on Amazon for…[Read more]

My book is called, “Memory Lane Was Moved”. It is for ages 9-12, but any age can read it. It is FREE for five days starting today! I would love it if you would tell your friends about it (especially the ones with kids)! Here is the link.
Fun fact, the Jason Bourne movies inspired this book!

@kendralynne518 I think accidentally writing a blurb should be a superpower :).
Mine is cheating, since I don’t actually have a WIP at the moment (I’m on a post-novel break). My third novel is called Valkyrie.
Just before the destruction of civilization as we know it, Meredith was kidnapped, altered, and trained as a superhuman warrior by her…[Read more]
